Of course you probably know this but I think the old LRH operating basis, which is still used, is to get somebody interested in his own case.

Just get somebody interested if they have upsets in life, if they have problems in life, if they have done things which they are not willing to talk about, if they have trouble communicating. If you can get a person to realize these things, why then you got them hooked, and it's a step by step process. Some will go along, some will drop out. It's a numbers game.

Auditing also is based on if interested in own case, hence ruds check at the very beginning of each auditing session. Do you have a ARCX, do you have a PTP, do you have a withhold.

A lot of the marketing promo, and PR promo is dovetailed into getting a person "interested in own case". The marketing of the basic books such as New Slant on Life, Problems of Work, Fundamentals of Thought, even Dianetics, is trying to persuade a person to become "interested in his own case".

The persuasion, or rhetoric, is you have a case, the solution is doing dianetics (clear) and later scientology (OT). some of us fell for it, some of us did not. Some of us finally realized it was bullshit.

Anyways, just one mans IMHO.

Hubbard used propaganda tech on outsiders and also on his own followers. What do people love? Most basically, people love SURVIVAL, and, of course, they love pleasure and happiness, and also living forever, and even being invisible and being able to fly around - which indeed would be great fun.

What do people "hate"? These days, anyone called a "hater" is immediately stigmatized. Thus Scientology is in the habit of labeling those who criticize it "haters."

Is Scientology about love? Not really.

Hubbard's broad circulation piece, What is Greatness?, which you quote in your video, was PR (public relations). It appeared concurrent with the establishing of the Guardians Office (later renamed OSA), and one year after the appearance of the non-remimeo (semi confidential) Fair Game Law.

If you examine the above document closely, you'll see it advocates both arson and murder.

A similar view can be found in the HCOPL Responsibility of Leaders of 1967. If you have a PDF of that document, do a find on the word "pink," as in "pink legs," to easily locate the relevant section.

You're a good person for wanting to find what's best in Scientology. That's a natural impulse from someone who wants to help others.

To be realistic, however, one must consider the entirety of the subject.
