It’s been pretty obvious for several years that Scientology leader David Miscavige was dealing with lagging recruitment and a drop in overall membership, and so he focused on convincing wealthy donors to give more, and to spend that money on buildings.
As long as the whales could be convinced that Scientology was still “expanding” — at least in real estate — the money would keep coming in and the lack of interest in Scientology by the public would be papered over.
And this year, Dave seems to have picked up the pace, not only with his “Ideal Org” program, but other projects as well.
The latest Ideal Org opened in San Juan, Puerto Rico in February.

At the L. Ron Hubbard Birthday Event in March, Dave’s presentation seemed to imply that St. Louis, New Haven, and Manchester, England would be coming on line next.
But then observers noticed that the building in Montreal that Scientology had purchased is getting a facelift…
