From what I remember, the passports were a short-term thing introduced in the 80s that never caught on. I left in 86 so have no idea if they made a comeback afterwards. Seemed stupid to me at the time. Scientology always has some promotional gimmick or another. It’s not like a real church.

The gimmick of dianetics thru the words, gimmick, of hubbard, any 2 people could clear themselves. Then the gimmick of scientology came about, thru words, gimmick, that one could go exterior, be OT, a operating thetan, return from past life, the hope of man thru Budda, I might add rhethoric. One of the added gimmicks of course was the e-meter.
So yah, one could say dianetics and scientology are gimmicks, to attract attention or increase appeal. It worked on some of the humans inhabiting planet earth. LOL
