Buying Scientology Items

You just posted:
"What if I had an exhibit highlighting the dangers of cults, how they use people and profit off them and various means of mind control that they use."
Is that what you are doing?

Cuz your initial post said you find Scientology things interesting and you were looking to add to your collection - a Scientology passport and "clear" bracelet.
Had you said you were putting together an exhibit highlighting the dangers of cults etc, to help educate innocent children from cults, my reaction would have been different.

For those of you who gave him a thumbs up - what exactly is rude about my posts? Asking to have compassion for Scientology survivors?
I'm sure we all have compassion for scientology survivors. He got a thumbs up because in my opinion you are over-reacting. I collect vintage vinyl records (among other things). I have some by Jerry Lee Lewis, who had sex with under-age girls. Does that make me a bad person?

I would expect nothing less from you
You and I have a history and you won’t let it go, so
any chance you can take a pot shot at me, you do. Oh, by the way, your analogy makes no sense
It is a justification for the pot shot !

Oh jesus! If there's anyone here who won't let things go it's you. If I wanted to have a pot shot at you I've had endless opportunities over the past couple of months, especially concerning what you've been saying about Trump, whom I detest with every fibre of my being, but I haven't said a word, and all have done as far as responding to you lately is to 'like' a few of your posts. So please, don't start all that over again. It's in the past, just try (like me) and leave it there.

My initial post did say I find them interesting. It did not elaborate because it didn't need to.

You also say you are asking me to have compassion for Scientology survivors but you have literally 0 clue about how Scientology has impacted me. Have you considered that never-ins can also be survivors who have suffered great damage to their life because of ScN? Nope ..you just assume and assume that I'm some jerk off who wants to parade around with items as if I'm going to mock ex members or something. I'm not going to get into it with you because to be honest, you don't deserve any further explanation, but you haven't the slightest clue what ScN did to the life of me and my family. Maybe it's you that needs some compassion.

Here's an idea that will do you well in life. Stop assuming so much and don't approach people with a nasty chip on your shoulder.

One of the Trump followers should have said by now, "looks like a severe case of TDS". I'm proud to have been have been diagnosed with TDS many times.

From what I remember, the passports were a short-term thing introduced in the 80s that never caught on. I left in 86 so have no idea if they made a comeback afterwards. Seemed stupid to me at the time. Scientology always has some promotional gimmick or another. It’s not like a real church.

Never mind the armbands; they weren’t standard, just rags. Long story. Yeh, the Mormons have special underwear, for real.

Honestly, there was nothing in Scientology I thought was worth keeping. Good luck.
yah, the passports were a short term thing, me wife had one.

" Scientology always has some promotional gimmick or another."

I think you just explained Hubbard from the get go. The first gimmick was dianetics.

What does gimmick mean:

noun
an ingenious or novel device, scheme, or stratagem, especially one designed to attract attention or increase appeal.

a concealed, usually devious aspect or feature of something, as a plan or deal:An offer that good must have a gimmick in it somewhere.

a hidden mechanical device by which a magician works a trick or a gambler controls a game of chance.

Electronics Informal. a capacitor formed by intertwining two insulated wires.

-----------------

The gimmick of dianetics thru the words, gimmick, of hubbard, any 2 people could clear themselves. Then the gimmick of scientology came about, thru words, gimmick, that one could go exterior, be OT, a operating thetan, return from past life, the hope of man thru Budda, I might add rhethoric. One of the added gimmicks of course was the e-meter.

So yah, one could say dianetics and scientology are gimmicks, to attract attention or increase appeal. It worked on some of the humans inhabiting planet earth. LOL

I'm sorry to hear VooDoo is no longer with us.

I've got numerous leatherbound books - Dianetics and Way To Happiness plus dozens of LRH fiction books from Author Services. Every time I look at them I agonise over what to do with them. Throwing them away seems such a waste.
Update: I moved house recently and gave the LRH fiction books to a charity shop. Most of my scientology stuff has already gone in a dumpster although I've kept my goldenrod SP Declare. During the move I also discovered three IAS lapel badges that I'd forgotten about. I got them free of charge! (Well, I had to pay a fortune for them initially but I eventually got all of my donations refunded).

I think the assumption tends to be that if you are not a Trumper then you are a Biden supporter or left-wing somehow. I'm neither of those things, my dislike of Trump has got next to nothing to do with his politics but is mostly all about his character/personality.

I agree and his politics aren't reliable anyway. They're whatever he thinks will give him the most attention and power at the current time and situation.

eBay auction number 154545739443 is up as I write these words. It is a Scientology "Silver Meritorious" plaque/trophy. It apparently comes with a very nice aluminum-skin "Halliburton" case. Starting bid is $500.

I'm not sure how much your donation has to be for this, I'm tired right now and too lazy to look it up. We'll see how much it sells for.

I already bought a "Patron With Honors" plaque ($100,000) for less than $50 US so I won't be bidding on this one.

I'd like a Volunteer Minister's jacket - it would be great fun at an SP Party. :D

Back in 2010, I attended a 3-day event hosted by Anonymous and one of the Anon's had one.
