Buying Scientology Items

I like him find Scientology and the history of it very interesting which is largely what made me interested in collecting a few items. I posted before that I was looking for a Scientology Passport (still am) and a Clear Bracelet, but in general I'm just interested to hear of any other unique/interesting ScN items people have, collected, or discarded just to hear the stories of various things.

Maybe you can have a bizarro museum of weird cult items, including Mormon underwear. Really, wouldn't that be funny?

I wouldn't consider myself a ScN collector...as I currently own zero items related to the CoS. I could go into depth about how I learned of ScN but I will save that for another thread. Just found the Passport's very interesting and unique, so I'd thrown out a fishing line on the old site and figured I'd continue the same thread here, even if just for general discussion as I'm not getting my hopes up.

Never heard of Mormon underwear or an RPF armband! Interested to search about both (just to read, not because I want undies!)

From what I remember, the passports were a short-term thing introduced in the 80s that never caught on. I left in 86 so have no idea if they made a comeback afterwards. Seemed stupid to me at the time. Scientology always has some promotional gimmick or another. It’s not like a real church.

Never mind the armbands; they weren’t standard, just rags. Long story. Yeh, the Mormons have special underwear, for real.

Honestly, there was nothing in Scientology I thought was worth keeping. Good luck.

Some things which will become a rarity now are the red tech volumes and green admin volumes. It seems that Miscavige has done away with them.

While I was a staff member I was told (by Hubbard) that if I bought a hardback copy of his sci-fi novel 'Return to the Stars' it would be a good investment. Forty years later and decades after the author's death I don't hear a great clamouring for this work of fiction of his. I am very very dissapoint. :(

I've got numerous leatherbound books - Dianetics and Way To Happiness plus dozens of LRH fiction books from Author Services. Every time I look at them I agonise over what to do with them. Throwing them away seems such a waste.

Nah. They swamped the market, just like they always do. Too many copies of things.

Maybe the green and red volumes might be worth something to lawyers suing Scn, since Miscavige is trying so hard to get rid of them.

I remember your post, asking for any kind of Scientology paraphernalia. I get that those items hold a certain fascination for you, but I really don't understand why. It's just stuff, which most ex-Scientologists couldn't care less about. In fact, most of us throw that junk out when we reclaim our natural rights as free people.

If I weren't sick with stage four cancer, I'd collect a bunch of my old Scn junk and send it to you. Trust me when I say that ex-Scientologists place very little value value on any of the physical objects connected with Scientology.

True dat, which is one reason I'm keeping my book collection. In time they'll accrue value, simply because they're as rare as hen's teeth.

One person's trash is another person's treasure. I definitely don't want anything because of a perceived value...I just like collecting various things. I also have various currency that no longer exists and from countries that don't exist because it's another personal interest.

I think my most valued piece of scientology memorabilia is a yellow piece of paper informing me that I have been Declared a Suppressive Person. It's known as a goldenrod.

Last night I was out with my adult son who was never in scientology and I was telling him about this and he laughed and said he wanted to see it. I told him his mother, my ex-wife, also had one and so did her new husband. There are a lot of us around! Anyway, when I see my son again in a few days time I'll show him my goldenrod and we can have a good laugh about it.

Never heard about that one. Was it in his letters, or was it something he did personally?

The first time I read your post I thought you meant the SF classic "Return from the Stars"
