For Current Scientologists That Are Curious

Yep, that's very true. Which is why one needs a certain amount of self-confidence and risk-taking to get out.
At some point, one needs to say: "Actually, I know better than Hubbard/CoS - thank you very much!"

Those who lacked sufficient self-confidence to put their own experience above church doctrine... well, they are still in.
I think in my case, I had the idea that the basic idea of scientology was correct, and that the actual application of scientology as being carried out by orgs, management, and the staff, was just not getting it done in the way that "Ron" would have done it. That was the way that I had handled my dissonance.

I believed that the tech itself would work to the degree it was applied properly. I believed that orgs would function successfully to the degree that they could get functions on the org board fulfilled.

I believed that management would get it's job done to the degree that org's could get their part done.

What was needed was a bit of expansion, and some luck.

I believed that not of all the tech was being applied, because no one had the time to actually ensure that. For example, did any org anywhere actually have a KOT?

The above is how I thought from ten to twenty years into my almost thirty year experience in scientology.

Yeah, that's something I forgot to mention. There is always the possibility to adopt a "Hubbard was right but the current church/Dave/etc is wrong" position. But even that requires quite some self-confidence, as it is still a "I know better what Ron meant" approach.

Ditto.

In early 2006, blownforgood showed up on OCMB, followed by Mr. Peacock and Little Bear Victor among others.
True and shocking stories about Int Base began to surface. They all had an authenticity about what they were
writing about and revealing, especially blownforgood. Once I heard those stories, knew that they had to be true,
and realized that the Int Base was one big "Lord of the Flies" scenario . . . it was over for me!

I had been off staff since 2001, then got a bug up my butt and decided to join again in 2016. Once I saw that I had made a grave error, I decided to route out, and had to go to an upper org to do the sec ck associated with it. That cycle took four months, and was the most insane thing that I have ever gone through. It resulted in me blowing, coming back, a subsequent comm ev. In the midst of all this, there was an effort to blow up my 2D relationship by the MAA, since my 2D was an exec at the org. After it was all over, and I was back home and out, and was in the middle of doing F&R's on the comm ev, I decided that there was something extremely wrong with scientology as it is being practiced. My 2D had gone through her own crazy fucked up experience while on staff, and with my routing out. She also thought that there was something very wrong.

By early 2017, I decided that there was something to know. I was desperate to TALK to someone about what was happening, so I called a friend that I had trained with at Flag. I knew she was out, but I trusted her since she was a BC grad and was a "no bull shit" sort of person. She was auditing in the free-zone, and had a few stories of her own, but recommended a few things, like the "Truth Rundown" series from the Tampa newspaper. I set out on my own "discover the truth about scientology" adventure. I was gobsmacked by what I read, and could tell that it was indeed the truth.

But it took that much duress that I had experienced in my routing out cycle BEFORE I saw the light! It is actually very spooky, because I could still be in, I can see that. I was very well "processed" into that mindset.

I do not go a day without thanking the stars, the gods, etc. that I saw the light!! Thanks to you asshole MAA for being such an asshole!! And thanks to whoever it was that was running you, to be such an asshole!! If it wasn't for him, or whoever was running him, I might still be the stupid moron that I was and be broke and trying to achieve total freedumb!!

Mark had a huge impact on me as well, chatting to him on forum, reading his stories and then later his book, I was mind blown for good!

Another Huge impact for me was the OT board youtube vids, Tory :rose: Magoo and that Paul Haggis interview.

I knew a guy who did what he wanted in Scientology. He argued with the staff and thought they were idiots. It was all about Ron. Orgs and staff just weren't applying Scientology properly like good old Ron would have done. It's funny when you think of it. It's like they know something is wrong but they just don't get it. They are so far off base.

Totally!! I knew something wasn't working, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Back when people were getting trained and audited, there was some hope of a glimmer of what it could be, but in practicality it was much different. There was always something that would happen to make you realize your idea of scientology was different than managements idea of scientology, and that you just had to get with the program. OF course, what do you know? You don't get to read FO's, and all those other wonderful directives that lrh must have written before he left to help guide the choich. All the while was Davey's slide down the crazy chute, shaking up everything that was being done.

Entirely agreed. For me the most vivid cases were abortions in the SO. I was absolutely 100% convinced that it went contrary to the basic ideas of dianetics. Nobody above wanted to listen, almost everyone just went on with the program. Of course me being the egomaniac, my instant "cognition" was: "Yep, now I'm sure I know better than all the dimwits in RTC."
If there was one decent counter-intention sabotage I made, it was with regard to this.

Although epidemics of ideological possession can be fatal to entire societies, the disease provides immediate benefits to the individual who is afflicted, such as intellectual certainty and stability, feelings of moral superiority, an apparent simplification of life’s difficult decisions and questions, avoidance of true moral responsibility, and a sense of belonging among others similarly afflicted. All of these tend to prevent self-treatment.
The painful shock activates the Love of Truth long enough to locate the cause of the pain.
Accordingly, the cures for ideological possession tend to be external and unsought. They nevertheless exist and fall into two broad categories—fast cures and slow cures.
Fast cures tend to be triggered by a catastrophic failure of one or more of the above benefits to the afflicted individual. This may occur when, despite the highly motivated perception and reasoning of the possessed individual, she experiences an unexpected, painful, and shocking outcome of an ideologically motivated action. The painful shock activates the Love of Truth long enough to locate the cause of the pain, forcing the afflicted to admit the symptoms, and therefore identify the disease for what it is, effecting the rapid cure.
Slow cures tend to involve a rising awareness by one afflicted individual of the same disease in friends or others with whom she identifies. This can be induced when the individual sees inconsistencies in those others’ words and actions that cause direct harm to others and to the stated goals of the possessing ideology. (In theory, this slow cure could be induced by observations of one’s own actions under ideological possession, but this is prevented by the self-righteousness that is felt when one acts in the grip of the disease.)

I've witnessed this with virtually every Scientologist and these pathways were mine as well.

Although I was already embarked on the Slow cure I experienced the full brunt of "Ethics" that rendered a rather abrupt Fast cure.

I was the only honest being in this "Ethics" cycle. When I would read "honest beings have rights" and then experienced the rights that I had regarding this issue it tended to render a rather abrupt cure.

This is where I learned that there were two Techs. There's Standard Tech and Double Standard Tech.

I simply asked myself "would this occur to Tom Cruise?".

The answer was obvious. NO!

Therefore, I received Standard Tech and Tom Cruise received Double Standard Tech - or vice versa...it really didn't matter which was which.

Suffice it to say that they exist - side by side and fully acknowledged and practiced.

I will say that you just knocked it out of the park!!

Mine was a long slow erosion that did little to make me leave for good. I was willing to fade away into the sunset. But a new relationship with one that was still very deeply in and not very far along towards getting out pulled me back in, and deeply.

It took my sever ethics cycle to wake me up, and my other woke up as well and lived cult free forever after!

I used to look at others having very rough ethics cycles, and I would say to myself "I don't like the looks of this", but did nothing. That inability to SEE what others were truly going through cost me quite a bit.

Remember this sad story posted on Mike Rinder's Blog?

Here he is now, today, on OTV at Flag, posting on Facebook:

Scientologists are rebels by nature so it’s not a surprise that some see mask wearing as bad control being run on them and then take to Facebook to proclaim their views and disagreements.

I’d like to give you my viewpoint on why I wear a mask and keep in a very high level of sanitation protocol. (Especially while I am interacting with our church personnel.)
First, know that I am a self-made millionaire and I am well read with an above average IQ. I understand basic biology and how viruses work. I understand how the immune system works. I can read a graph of tests vs cases vs deaths. I’m also not PTS.
Odds are you and I share the exact same politics as well.
When it comes to mask wearing, the most pro-survival guy I know on Earth has access to even more data and expertise than I do.
You would find it very hard to make a case that this individual is somehow a media dupe, a fool, or an authoritarian.
After examining the situation he put together a whole program with books, PSAs and sanitation programs (including mask wearing) to keep his organizations worldwide safe and open helping others go free.
Many of the staff I interact with at these organizations are over 60 and at a higher risk. These beings, in my humble opinion, are more vital to this world than any preppers garage full of bullets.
Think back to some the most pro-survival beings you know on this planet. Some have white hair. That’s who I’m talking about protecting most.
Even if I get the virus I know I’m not at much risk. However, it’s not true for them.
Maybe the chances that I would track in some virus to them are very small. However the damage would be great. Devastating.
So, I’m onboard with masks for their sake and yours - you may need their help getting off this rock.
It seems to be a very minor inconvenience. Remember, the smartest guy I know has evaluated the situation from a very high-level and found the most ethical choice in a bad situation.
When you are publicly fighting against mask wearing, you’re directly opposing the program he has put in place to keep these people safe.
I’d appreciate it if you’d take another look at the effect of your communication and what your purposes are.
Does it hurt you that other people want to wear masks?
Do you understand why some of us do wear them even though we recognize that the virus is not a big danger directly to us?
Thanks for reading. Please keep it civil in the comments.

In another stunning moment of buried memory recovery, I thought of a conversation with a Flag reg about Superpower. I recalled being told that there was some sort of magic that could occur on the planet should a certain number of people got through it. Again, another number bolstering changing the world if enough people got through it. I have searched this but can't seem to find it, and I don't feel like calling my Flag reg to ask, at least not today.

Is there anyone here recently out that had a reg tell them that? Was this in a publication anywhere?
I was near promo at the sandy base at some point in the past 75 trillion or so years. I don’t recall there being a number for Super Power, but I was not around Super that much. What I do recall is that they were services that would essentially delivered to government officials and, what’s the word, not VIP but... oh yeah!!!Opinion Leaders! And having the people go through Super Power would shift the tides of war.

I also don’t remember having an amount on Solo NOTs, so far ??/10,000.
Edit: I’m pretty sure I heard this verbally from some rando, sorry for verbal data!

I think that many a current scientologist consider what they see in grocery stores on magazines in checkout lines to be the "truth" about scientology haters.

They need to look no further that the stupidity spouted by US Weekly, National Enquirer and others to see how the authors got it wrong. "Yelling and insulting" someone turns out to be upper indoc tr's. "Made to sweat for hours a day for over a month". You've heard and seen it.

Those same scientologists that see things get twisted in stupid ways know that ANY criticism can be explained.

Of course, there are many, many safeties and falsehoods that the con man built in are all still applicable, ethics, o/w tech in it's fullest, ksw series, data series, redefining words, quite a bit, actually.

But this is different, because it is a window to the soul of sp's to a diehard scn. "Is this the best that they can do?" thinks the gung-ho guy or gal. Pshaw, as they say in the south.

I have a friend that is still in that said "back in the mid 90's, I did checkout what was on the internet, and it was looney".

Who knows what website, what blog it was that he saw. Maybe he went in already knowing that is was ok, and this was just a superficial escapade.

My answer to anyone that is looking is this: There is information available to show you that you should not be involved with the organization that david miscavige is running.

The only problem would be not looking at all, looking at something that is really a crock of shit (see National Enquirer above), not really reading something that you are looking at that would convince someone without a bias already, or saying that you looked at "everything" available.

There is a huge volume of truth about scientology that would keep a sane person out, or pull if sane person out it they read any small portion.

Or even a smidgeon of it.

Or even a couple pages from one of about 100 books.
