Scientology donor Grant Cardone calls for 'slaughter' of Democrats at MSG rally Tony Ortega Oct 27, 2024

This morning we explained why it seems so unusual that a major Scientology figure like Grant Cardone, who has donated at least $15 million to church leader David Miscavige’s initiatives, would take part in a key political event like today’s rally at Madison Square Garden.

For many years, politicians from both parties have tended to keep away from Scientology, with some notable exceptions. But we can’t remember a Scientologist like Cardone being invited to speak at an event like this, as GOP candidate Donald Trump goes into the final week of the 2024 election with this rally his campaign called “historic.”

Cardone spoke for about 7 minutes and did not bring up his involvement in Scientology, of course. He described himself as an “educator” and real estate investor, and not an OT 8 Scientologist.

But he did very conspicuously use the word “invalidate” twice in his speech in the way that Scientologists used it, which struck us as odd. Here is his entire address and a transcript of it. Does anything else strike you as something that echoes Scientology’s ways of speaking?

And hey, we hope you go out and cast a ballot on November 5 for whichever candidate. We simply feel that whoever you’re pulling for, it is simply remarkable to see Scientology represented at a political milestone like this.

Scientologists of all stripes talk the same nutty stuff about "the Democrats". Not hard to understand. If there's any substantial quality or characteristic that differentiates Trump from Hubbard, I don't see it.

The great majority of people choose who they are going to vote for in one of two ways:
1)They vote along Party lines.
2) They compare the two or more candidates running for office and choose who they believe would be the best option.

You've made your thoughts about Trump pretty clear. But you've said nothing (unless I missed it) about Kamala. Are there any reasons you would vote for her other than the fact that she is not Trump?

I've been a bit mystified as to how Cardone got on Fox News some much recently.....I guess quoted as to his real estate shtick.....

Perhaps he has gotten a lot of Federal Money to house Illegals in all those apartment buildings...?

Well, at least you don’t see him being followed everywhere by cute pubescent Messengers in hot pants.

I can see the media taking that comment out of context and going on about Republican violence, and justifying Antifa “self defense “ measures.

Had Trump made that comment about needing to slaughter these other people I wouldn't be surprised if they did take it out of context as you wrote. The media did that exact type of thing on multiple occasions. Kamala did it during the debate with Trump. I doubt she would have used such a tactic unless she was confident that the moderators wouldn't fact-check her as they did with Trump, and they didn't.

Don't be so sure, who among us ever saw Hubbard with that accompaniment when he was alive or when we were in the cult?

at this point, i think we're seeing a lot of people voting for reasons, motivations or attractions very similar to why they join cults and idolize gurus.

plus there's also sort of single-issue or ideological voting, where people will vote for whoever they believe (perhaps mistakenly) will do something in particular for them or a cause, regardless of how otherwise distasteful or even immoral they find that person.

Who among us were on the ship?

There were pictures

We also have people who can become motivated to show up and vote when they would stay home, or vice versa.

I get that it can seem that way. But the vast majority vote along Party lines.

Probably some choose their Party for the reasons you mentioned. But once someone chooses a Party they tend to stay loyal to it.

This is from 2020:

Most Americans Registered Will Vote Straight Ticket, Poll Shows
The latest Pew Research Center survey released Wednesday on the U.S. election finds that an overwhelming majority of registered voters plan to vote only for Republicans or only for Democrats on Election Day.

(CN) — The latest Pew Research Center survey released Wednesday on the U.S. election finds that an overwhelming majority of registered voters plan to vote only for Republicans or only for Democrats on Election Day.

The researchers report that only 4% of those registered voters said they plan to vote a split ticket — a ballot cast for a mix of candidates from both parties — when they go to the polls ahead of the 2020 election. That’s about as many as had said the same thing in advance of the 2016 election.

The nonprofit, nonpartisan polling group collected responses from 10,543 registered voters in states with a contested seat in the U.S. Senate. Panelists answered the questions via an online survey.

From July, 2023:

Study: Only 6% of voters crossed party lines in 2022 midterms
A new Pew Research Center report also finds Republicans had the national turnout advantage in the 2022 election.

Excerpt:

Just a sliver of the electorate — 6% of voters — crossed party lines in last year’s election, reflecting the small size of the swing vote that’s truly up for grabs in this increasingly politically polarized nation.

And just slightly more than one-third of all eligible voters participated in all three of the most recent national elections — 2018, 2020 and 2022 — demonstrating how fluid the electorate is from cycle to cycle.

These are the major findings of a new Pew Research Center examination of the 2022 midterm electorate, which matched Pew’s 10,000-person online panel to public voting records validating that the respondents actually voted.

You are making Reyne's point. The party, and/or the person dominating it, are the cult. When a person votes strictly along party lines, they aren't examining the candidates, they aren't employing critical thinking, they are engaged in knee-jerk response in defense of "the right and good camp" and against "the wrong and bad camp", and no amount of evidence or argument can penetrate. That's cult mentality.

I believe there's some truth in what you wrote and I am not at ALL a fan of the two-party system.

That said, your assumption that someone isn't employing critical thinking if they vote along party lines is not true for everyone. Someone can use critical thinking to choose a Party to support, the one they feel is best for the country.

But very few Scientologists were aware, none that I knew.

Well...... Training Films that I watched in the early 70's had many actors in kinda Hippie Cloths.... Long Hair.....Bell Bottoms....

Then there were some "space suit" type outfits....

Jumping to the present......it looks like Org Staff are outfitted in polyester vests and slacks..... Kinda a Best Western Hotel look....

So....Scientology Staff have been thru numerous "looks...." Certainly numerous photos of Hot Pants SO girls are around....

When I was getting ready to make the move from DC to LA....and had my 1-3 paid for......a female friend told me that all the rage in Los Angeles at the time was the Cowboy Look....! I kinda ignored that advice.....

I think the bottom line is that most SO....and Org Staff are so poor they can't really afford anything.... I recall one SHSBC Sup coming in one evening and showing off his new shoes..... He was so proud of them....

Staff like Gaven Potter that drive around in a shiny BMW and wear nice suits are pretty rare... ( and that fancy BMW came from his wife's wealthy father...)

I was tasked one time by a wealthy woman from Mexico City to drop off her husband's suits and cloths that had joined the SO ....at the Complex. I did get into some sort of SO security desk near Lebanon Hall....but they couldn't locate the guy. So they said just leave the cloths and he would get them. It turned out all were stolen.... The wife was very upset...and accused me of stealing them...!

My opinion is that if you're employing critical thinking, you don't ignore the character of the candidate, because who that individual is will reflect on how they behave in office, and whether or not they will work on your behalf or for their own interests. Party affiliation certainly does not guarantee whether the candidate will or won't perform to the benefit of their constituents or act disgracefully, which happens on both sides of the aisle, and it's lazy thinking at best not to bother to pay attention to who the individuals are (in my opinion).

IMO....besides policy.....and direction.... it is who can line up the ducks..

Line up the people to make a coalition and actually get something done. Not just a simple task like a Border Wall.....or US Manufacturing....but a world wide vision....and actually getting other parties to "get in line behind it.."

Trump tried to get a wall built....and he was fought tooth and nail on the Hill......his entire Presidency.....

But I think now....he could accomplish lining up ducks to get some things done.....

If oil shipping can't be accomplished due to some firing rockets....then that has to be stopped....

These random stabbings.....knockout punches....and shooting need to be stopped....

Trump may have had 7 bankruptcies.....but he does have around 500 successful business....all over the world.

Trump can get things done....

I just don't see Kamala as measuring up at all..... she is a total light weight....and very fake.

On top of that look at who is lining up with a coalition with Trump at present. Kennedy and Gabbard leap to mind. That's a stunning endorsement.
