In Dean Wilbur book, Wilbur writes about what a writer should do, it relates to be, do and have. Wilbur says a writer

"As rhetoric is a self expression, the making of a writer begins with the self. Being is the the thing of first important-not merely life, but living. Experience is the next thing-- not merely observing or hearing or but doing. Technic is the third thing............... "

this is from The Chapter of the making of a writer in Dean Wilbur book posted above. Bill, should ask his brother if he read this book and can correlate. You'll have to scroll down on the link to get to the chapter of the book.

now, if you understand this, the first thing Hubbard did when he wrote his book Dianetics, was he tried to establish hisself as a scientist. That would be "be". Or being,

you know Veda, I went earlier than you and Hubbard Jr and Armstrong release of documents. You should too.

Hubbard's report card gives proof Hubbard studied Dean Wilbur book on English Rhetoric. Secondly, Hubbard's letter to Dean Wilbur in 1936.

Those are my proofs, logos, or logic. Bill asked for source, I gave them.

I actually just realized the problem here and all along since I posted on ESMB, nobody clicks on the links I provided as proof and reads them. I think maybe 2 people read them, A Face in the Crowd and Mockingbird.

As far as Hubbard's use of PTS/SP tech and silencing people, I'm pretty sure his tech is as I tried to explain in the Heinlein letters, but yet nobody read them.

So once again, read this:

Shoot, if you can't read, just click on the bottom "headphones" symbol and listen.
Not true. I read all your posts. As a result of reading them I actually bought Wilbur's book.

@Riddick ... I don't believe anyone has disagreed with your posts regarding rhetoric since you started posting them back in 2014, though some have tried to discuss them with you ... what I'm surprised at (and I asked you about it a few days ago ... post #21) is the way you seem to be aiming the contempt you have towards the cult and hubbard at your fellow ex scientologists, why would you do that?

For me, the thing I wanted was Dianetics -- and plenty of it! But I kept getting pushed into Scientology instead (Grades, etc.) and was dissatisfied. I finally (after I jumped ship and got into the Freezone) started demanding it.

I did start working with one auditor, whose name most of you would recognize, telling her that I just wanted Dianetics. She refused, saying it's not up to the client to decide. So I broke contact with her.

Five years later, I asked her again, with the same demand. Apparently she hasn't had many clients lately, because she acted like she desperately needed the work. This time she was more accomodating, and we spent over 90 hours on it (and I'm glad I did).

My opinion: give the customer what they want.

Dianetics was a difficult read. Most didn't get it.

not quite sure why you think that?

I'm just giving out sources of Hubbard and what he used.

I know you are ... you've been doing that (and little else) since 2014 but you seem to me to be offended and even annoyed when people don't want to further discuss with you your thoughts regarding rhetoric, even though many of us have agreed and discussed it with you over the last 7 or more years.

well, actually, nobody has really discussed it, after all these years of me posting.

Rhetoric is the core of Dianetics and scientology. Nobody has really discussed about how he created ethos, pathos or logos to persuade people. Would you like to discuss, talk about it? Nor has anybody ever read Dean Wilbur book and realized how that book influenced Hubbard.

No, I wouldn't like to further discuss it, just stating and acknowledging it is enough (for me) with regards to the cult.

Everything ever sold to anyone comes with a degree of rhetoric, the cult is no different. I can accept that for what it is and don't feel the need to go into the details of how it was/is done. Perhaps if I was in Advertising, Sales, PR or Politics I would feel differently because I may want to emulate the successful and current uses of that particular tool.

that's great and I am happy for you.

I'm gonna just keep posting. You can put me on ignore or block, whatever.

OK ... keep posting repeatedly the already very well known fact that rhetoric was used in the cult or ... perhaps you could post some examples and then add your own thoughts to the examples about how it was done?

That may encourage others to discuss it with you ...

I suggest you read Dale Carnegie's book "How To Win Friends And Influence People". You might get some ideas on how to get people interested in what you intend to keep posting about and maybe then you wouldn't piss off so many people.
I've been wanting to suggest for ages that he try the art of persuasion (AKA rhetoric) but your suggestion sounds better.

At the org I studied at they probably would have sent me to Ethics for reading tech by off-source squirrels like Dale Carnegie.

Instead, they offered a book entitled: "How To Con Friends And Influence Whales".

It was written by "Mankind's Greatest Friend"

Ah, fishing for Rondroids. You know very well that "add your own thoughts" only leads to endless ethics cycles and reams of goldenrod with your name on it.

laughing, yes I have read Dale Carnegie, but before him was Napoleon Hill. They are both similar, but they are rhetoric, really, when you think about it. I posted them both on ESMB somewhere.

I'm not trying to win and influence people, I'm just trying to point out how Hubbard influenced people.
