Pieces of tech you liked

For me, the thing I wanted was Dianetics -- and plenty of it! But I kept getting pushed into Scientology instead (Grades, etc.) and was dissatisfied. I finally (after I jumped ship and got into the Freezone) started demanding it.

I did start working with one auditor, whose name most of you would recognize, telling her that I just wanted Dianetics. She refused, saying it's not up to the client to decide. So I broke contact with her.

Five years later, I asked her again, with the same demand. Apparently she hasn't had many clients lately, because she acted like she desperately needed the work. This time she was more accomodating, and we spent over 90 hours on it (and I'm glad I did).

My opinion: give the customer what they want.

"Don't be reasonable".

According to Hubbard "being reasonable" is a bad thing. To get things done you need to stop accepting reasons why they can't be done.

When I decided to leave scientology I had some money in my account that I hadn't used so I asked for it back. Surprisingly, they agreed but said I would have to wait because they didn't have the money at the moment. I knew this was true because my org was always struggling to pay its bills so I agreed to wait.

After waiting several months I realised I was "being reasonable" so I applied the tech and took them to court for the return of my money.

This worked brilliantly. I not only got my money but also got an SP declare which has resulted in me receiving no more communication from scientology ever since.

The way to judge whether or not a piece of tech (auditing) was successful or not was if a person left a session with a floating needle, cognition, very good indicators - f/n cog vgis. I only did a minimal amount of giving and receiving auditing on the lower grade chart compared to a lot of other people but everything went smoothly. I split scn because of the price increases around 1979 and had no problem with the Tek at the time.

Whether there was any long term or permanent benefit from auditing can be debated. Likewise whether a floating needle was simply caused by hypnosis or a release of dopamine in the brain. Have fun with those debates - lol

I liked TR0 bullbait.

I liked the underlying life-philosophy of "be tough, don't grumble and pull yourself up by your bootstraps".
I didn't like the way that philosophy was twisted to make people put up with unworkable nonsense and pretend how putting up with abuse is simply "not being a pussy" and fine.

I liked the idea of exchange, when it was practiced consistently and fairly. I din't like the way that was twisted to have the church take everything from the people without giving them back anything valuable that they didn't have before.

I'm more of the "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" mindset when it comes to anything related to Hubbard. But...I did appreciate the dissection of the parts of the communication formula but wasn't fond of TRs especially the torture of doing endless hours of them. One round of a couple minutes through each TR and that would have sufficed for me. And definitely no Upper Indocs and yelling at ashtrays and walking over to walls and touching them.

In life I do notice a couple of "scientological" data that I notice frequently and that is missed withhold phenomena and service facsimiles. Most notably in politics for instance. To this day I don't know of any wog word that otherwise describes "service facsimile" and it's related phenomena. Another empirical observation is a solution to a problem creates a new problem. So, the 0-IV Levels training had some little tidbits of interesting life observations. But nothing that changed my life in a dramatic way.

If given a chance for a do-over of my life I would not have gotten involved with Diabology and Scienetics.

I liked listening to Hubbard's Space Opera in his lectures. I've always been a big Science Fiction fan, read a lot of it when I was younger. Don't care if it's real or not, I enjoy it. Never cared much for his other stuff, although Battlefield Earth is OK.

Same reason as everyone else - I need to make a living. Also it pays a bit better than the previous jobs I had and makes better use of my skills. I feel I'm honestly contributing more ingenuity and creative problem-solving for my employer than I was able to do for my previous ones.

Not to say driving a night bus was a useless endeavor, but this is far more of a thinking-man's job.

This whole "good bits of Scientology" is pretty useless. What would be useful is: "good bits and where Hubbard stole it from". That would be good information for many people.
Hubbard emulated his Dean Wilbur at his George Washington University. Hubbard used Dean Wilbur book of English Rhetoric to create dianetics and scientology. This book is the blueprint of what hubbard did and source, or were he stole it from. But, it's deep, unless you read it, you won't know.

Here's the book:

That is your opinion, stated as if it were proven fact. That kind of statement has always annoyed me. It would read better if prefaced with "I think" or "it seems to me". FWIW. No insult intended.

I have two facts, one is hubbard's report card showing he took Dean Wilbur English Rhetoric course at George Washington University. The other is Hubbard's letter to his Dean Wilbur stating he would use his Rhetoric book to write a book.

Would you like me to post those things, although I have already in my Dean Wilbur tread on ESMB?

Also, did you at least look at the link I posted on Wilbur's book, that is click on it and read at least some of it to correlate, ie connect dots?

Or are you a part of the peanut gallery?

Those may be your "reasonable" assumptions, but they remain solely your opinion. You should study more on the difference between proven facts and assumptions. Might help.
