I thought the writing style different. I purchased the whole series and kept them next to the tech vols on the shelf next to them. I had vol 1 read to me because I just couldn't bring myself to get into the whole Mission Earth series. Maybe the colorful book jackets were the attraction for me.i crack up here. i bought battlefield earth and i was long out. one of my sisters got married in mexico in 1984 and i dragged that huge ass book along for the ride. don't think i ever read one page of it. was never a sci fi fan. but i was googling what happened to charlie and he seems to have written something that was in that book. so strange.
Well, they never came to their senses and disconnected from the abuse. I think some people were just lucky enough never to have gotten that much.after all this jabber, i have to conclude that all the lifers, whether they were in or out as indies, must be kinda loopy!
