it could even be that either is acceptable, depending on whether the reference was to all the graduates (alumni) or just singling out the female ones (alumnae). thus for example shouldn't it be 'Joan Baez, one of the most famous musical alumni' because that group clearly includes others like Leonard Cohen; but it could also be 'Joan Baez, one of the most famous female songwriter alumnae'?

I was a W/C'er for a few months myself. That was probably the best time of my 6 or so years on staff. I was doing well, by scn staff standards. It took some effort, but I finally got my seniors to agree that since there was no more hatting that I hadn't done, the only logical thing was for me to start the PRD! I'd wanted to do that ever since I'd heard of it.

Of course, I did it my way: Chief dictionary: The Compact Edition of the OED, magnifying glass and all, and the College edition of the American Heritage Dictionary!
I had heard of people doing the PRD with high school level dictionaries and thought; Why bother, if you're not trying to improve your knowledge? Lost a lot of respect for those people...

When high-crime checkouts were made "only M-9" I had to take several auditors through the brand new Int. series. The auditors knew I was new and not privy to all this tech, so they "M-7ed me through it, so I wouldn't fall asleep! So I learned a lot of tech (and admin) that many didn't. If someone tried to bs me with "tech" I could usually call their bluff and hold my own, even with higher classed auditors, hee hee...

The PRD? I admire your fortitude. I never did that, or aspired to.

i think dan and john were from menlo park. Dan married cindy page in the early 70’s. They were both Santa Clara staff. John met Claire Baker and they married, both staff as well. Cindy and dan split up when she went in the sea org and he didn’t. She came out and he went in. Last time i saw him at CC i think he had a new wife and cindy worked in hollywood doing set design or clothing.
