In Scientology's first few decades, its founder L. Ron Hubbard continuously sought to discover what he termed as "
ONE SHOT CLEAR";
a process or single command that would elevate a degraded being (i.e. new scientologist or "wog") to the state of CLEAR within moments. In fact, Hubbard claimed (at various times since 1950) to have
perfected his "One-Shot Clear" technology, such as the time he proudly announced a new miracle process to the world in his 1954 book "THE CREATION OF HUMAN ABILITY".
In that example, Hubbard could not only CLEAR a degraded being with one command, they would simultaneously go "exterior" to their physical body which is the very essence of the secret upper Operating Thetan levels.
Hubbard claimed that 50% of the people on earth could thus erase their entire reactive mind and go "CLEAR" by simply giving them the auditing command: "
BE 3 FEET BACK OF YOUR HEAD".
Many years and decades after the book was published and none of the Clears had any of the supernatural powers of a Clear, Hubbard made a new discovery. They were only "keyed-out Clear" (temporarily cleared).
And when not one of the lucky 50% went exterior, Hubbard had no response. He simply ramped his hoax up to several rungs higher by wildly bigger and better "discoveries" (e.g. his 1967 discovery that all Clears were still degraded and completely overwhelmed because of something that happened in the universe 75 million years earlier. What he found was something far worse than pre-natal
engrams. He found pre-this-lifetime
ghosts called body thetans!
These ghosts were infinitely more voluminous and harmful than pre-natal engrams. And the ghosts thus required inordinately more time (decades) and more cash (many hundreds of thousands of dollars) to get rid of.
SUMMARY: The essence of Scientology can be captured in one word: HelluvaHoax!
