While Ivan Oblenski was the Captain (Commanding officer) ~~ THE cult has stolen navy designations ~~
His son lived homeless on the streets of Los Angeles.
His mother also continued to work in the Sea Org at AOLA.
AS a teenager Serge was experimenting with fireworks when an explosion occurred
and Serge lost both his hands and was blinded in one eye.
While Serge lived on the streets homeless, he had no hands and only 1 functional eye.

A devastatingly tragic series of events becomes an epic journey, a heart-wrenchingly beautiful documentary and a wonderful person saved and miraculously given a new life.

Weren't these the kind of things we all thought Scientology was supposed to do---saving people?

But, no...Scientology was the indifferent sadistic source of all this suffering.

And it was the "SPs" (Aftermath Fdn.) who rescued him! Mind-bending irony.

What an epic dose of truth and love and caring.

Heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Serge and everyone at the Aftermath Foundation!

I had seen that on YT today and thanks for posting it here.

I'd see too many SO family leave as waifs. A few couched with me briefly. One of these flew out by herself to a Honolulu Hilton, having no resources and no real friends there. The teenage 'Howlie' was cruelly kept at very bottom of the totem pole. She just wanted to sing in a lounge. Julie "Star" Uzan, your optimism forever impressed me.

Marc and Claire Headley are two of the most awesomely extraordinary individuals ever to have escaped and fully emerged from Scientology.

Yes!! They are like--the coolest, kindest and wisest MOM & DAD to all good people everywhere in the world who are not in a cult. They simply ooze goodness and should cut thru the Q&A and just adopt everyone. LOL

Wow. Heart breaking to watch. I have to pause it - as it brought me to tears
Scientology is evil, cruel and inhumane

Serge - he is a kind and gentle soul
I am grateful the woman and Aftermath Foundation helped him
Marc and Claire Headley - Leah, Mike Rinder etc.
Thank you for helping him and exposing the evilness of Scientology
The documentary is excellent
I will resume watching it

I shared Serge's tragic story with some actual footage of Serge on the streets of Hollywood.
This is how Serge Oblenski lived while his parents continued to work 80 hour weeks for the "Sea Organization"
disconnected from him.

Just to mention it: That whole family went through some pretty rough treatment by the CoS. Everybody got disconnected from Ivan after he defected. Sasha Obolensky (Serge's brother) is now also deceased.

Also... Up till today I still thought that Serge was making pipe-bombs.

I should have F-ing known it was just another shore story!!!

I should have seen that coming, but I'm pretty pissed that they managed to have me believe one more lie all these long years.

wow, another family that has really not done well in $cn.

did Sasha have any of the same issues Serge seems to?

well, i wonder just what the truth is. having hung around my uncle's gun shop and both seen a lot being done by pros and given plenty of warning about what amateurs shouldn't try, along with horror stories, it seemed to me like his story did nto quite jibe. i checked, and losing all of both hands would be at if not beyond the very extreme of possible injuries from an M80 type 'firecracker' going off, which is what gets most people. it's possible he was trying to make something bigger including something more like a pipe bomb but just as a firework, or set off a gunpowder container when something smaller blew up, but we just don't have the full story so their could be at least a bit of truth to the CoS'....

The way I was told about it was that Sasha had an incurable disease. Nobody really wanted to talk about it in scientology or go into the details for the obvious reasons.

"Prince Sergei Platonovich Obolensky Neledinsky-Meletzky (November 3, 1890 – September 29, 1978), known as Serge Obolensky, was a Russian-born aristocrat then American citizen, U.S. Army colonel, socialite and publicist. He served as vice chairman of the board of directors of the Hilton Hotels Corporation.[1]"

somebody should get serge in here. if he had a facebook he'd find lots of friends. but at least here he would be safer from who knows what? in any case, he has money sitting there unclaimed ($150) and I posted it along with the others in the shelly thread but probably should have put it here. serge and danny mustard must have known each other too. danny was wondering where some of his old friends were. i could help find them if he posted!
