And in the years since the initial publication of the book and the proliferation of Scientology franchises everywhere, this has been explained away by altering the definition and description of "clear", selling expensive additional involvements claimed to resolve all the failures to accomplish this ("It will all get handled on the higher levels") and faulting paying customers, saying "you are to blame because you're being resistive/unethical/you're refusing to kick any and all family and friends who tell you not to trust us out of your life").

But at the end of the day, nobody has ever stably achieved anything close to the false pot of gold promoted and promised.

A couple months ago I was driving my car and suddenly the steering went a little crazy and i was having trouble keeping in my own lane!

Luckily I was on a main boulevard with many gas stations, car dealers and such, so i very slowly & carefully pulled into a service station. They took a look under the hood and underneath with modern diagnostic devices and determined that the electric power-steering assembly had to be replaced at a cost of $3,650! I didn't have much choice and figured that taking it to the dealer would be even more so i told them to go ahead and fix it.

I went back two days later to pick up the car. After paying the invoice I drove out of their service station and immediately my car lost steering control and crashed into a car traveling in another lane. What the hell?!!!

My car was immobilized so i walked back into the repair station and told them what happened.

They told me they could handle that. But it would cost an additional 4,900 dollars. When i objected, they explained that the mechanical part that broke this time was different than the part they replaced- - - and that it doesn't get handled until I do advanced upper-level repairs on my car.

I wanted to get the hell out of there and so i told them I would "think about it" and started walking away. Just then the manager of that repair place chased after me and gave me his card and said they he could give me a discount if i first paid in advance for the next three "upper repairs levels". And he told me that he could give me an even bigger discount if i first bought a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP contract in their company, called IAS ("International Automotive Services").

I didn't ever go back to that service station. But yesterday people from that gas station showed up at my work and told me that they are building a new IDEAL GAS STATION that would help mankind to standardly repair their cars and thus avoid breakdowns and therefore "all beings would then be able to go where they need to go to achieve their dreams" and to "safeguard their car's eternity".

After all, I AM spending a ton of money here. Their solution to my reasoned and sensible questions was to CS me for the Hidden Standard Rundown on exactly that point. How evil!

I was just trying to get what I paid for and I knew the OT tech claims inside out from my thorough and over-the-top studies. I knew all the early claims and fantastical promises cold.
