What happened at Le Poubelle was a crime......

These days....there are numerous messages to people, especially ladies about how to get help at a bar if they are in trouble....or are being bothered....

There are special words to use.....special hand signals....special drink name to ask for...drink covers......all to get help if in danger.

As one of Danny's victims that he preyed upon......had a drink spiked at La Poubelle.....and he was friends with the owner there for years......that is an extraordinary circumstance.....where a young lady might not be able to get help...if she needed it....

Even if a girl asked for help.....that something was wrong.... if the owner is friends with the perpetrator for years....might that owner just allow the criminal to "help the girl home..." as he is known to and friends with the owner...

And it is entirely possible that Danny chose to do this at La Poubelle solely because he knew he could control the situation better there....as being in tight with the owner....?

I can't imagine that spiking a drink is an exact science.....beside what Hollywood shows in the movies....

Was DAnny experimenting with the quantity? The effects and how long they took to appear? Testing "things" out....?

Why not do this at a place that he could most easily control?

I think that the owner of the restaurant was profiting from having a celebrity being a regular, and was reacting to the effect on the restaurant's business of the notoriety the protesting brought to the business, that she felt that her business was threatened because she and her business have been closely associated with creepy Danny, and it would become a place to avoid. From what I know from my non-Scn contacts in the LA area who observed and actually dealt with him, Masterson has been a rude, obnoxious, offensive arrogant little shit in restaurants and other places, so if she chose to profit from his presence, that doesn't say much for her. We can only speculate as to what degree she was aware of and complicit with his behavior, but to at least some degree, she was so, out of self-interest.

Her eatery is across from the Manor and there's competition on the block as well, so her having a pal in the business was being good for business. If so, that was another draw. Most any business wants public and any draw is better than no draw. Remember - no one other than his victims had any idea this was going on - how else do you explain all those letters to the judge in support of him? Most likely he had one face for them and another for the rest of us. Personally I doubt he had a bartender to doctor the drinks, I think it would be all too easy for him to do it at the table when she was distracted. Which is why I think these capers at her restaurant are totally unjustified. It's no different than protesting at the house he used to live at.
