It's surprising that the LAPD actually did their job for once. Maybe the powers that be at LAPD are concerned about the legal consequences of how they've handled things to date and have given the officers on the street a severe reality adjustment.

I think she was aware of the camera. She looked into it just before she struck the guy, but it was a carefully measured low level tap.

If there was no camera present, my guess that tap would've been a slap....

Just thinking on that note, she seems to have been very keen to express her displeasure, but careful enough to avoid consequences. She made it obvious enough to let him know it was deliberate but not appearing to do so (in her mind).

But us as viewers could plainly see her intent was to strike him. So I guess she isn't that good an actress...
