The Underground Bunker held its first HowdyCon convention since 2019 this weekend in New London, Connecticut. And during yesterday’s talks, Claire Headley gave us a welcome surprise.
She and husband Marc Headley are well known for the dramatic escapes they made in 2005 from Scientology’s secretive “Int Base” in Southern California, the basis for Marc’s terrific 2009 book Blown for Good.
But Claire explained yesterday there’s another story that hasn’t been told: How they survived after they escaped from Scientology’s Sea Org and its billion-year contract.
Just being able to tell that story, Claire said, was a journey in itself, and she gave us some glimpses about what that experience has been like.
And then, she let the cat out of the bag. She revealed the title for her book — Without Consent: My Life in Scientology from Birth to Escape — and that she’s working toward a January release.
