But back in 1993, that’s exactly where Mitch Brisker was, appearing on the cover of Celebrity’s “Major Issue 268,” being celebrated for directing new technical films based on founder L. Ron Hubbard’s instructions.
Now, of course, Mitch is an outspoken defector whose book about his experiences as Scientology’s main film director is a great read that we were happy to review when it came out in 2023.
Just recently we were sent this 33-year-old copy of Celebrity, and we realized we had this unusual situation: To ask someone what it was like to be on the cover of this publication.
We asked Mitch, how did this article come together, and what is it like for him to read it today?
He sent us a very interesting response. And after you read what he has to say, we’re posting his 1993 interview in full.
