We have what we think is a pretty telling video that suggests just how difficult it’s getting to drag Scientologists to their latest fleecing.
As former church members tell us all the time, they dreaded going to Scientology events knowing that whatever “good news” they would be told about the organization expanding and taking over the world, it would inevitably turn into yet another “regging” exercise as they were pressed to open up their wallets.
So maybe that’s why billionaire donor Tom Cummins was recruited to make this appeal to his fellow church members to please get your asses out to your local org this past weekend to watch video from the ground-breaking ceremony for L. Ron Hubbard Hall, which was held in Clearwater, Florida on August 1.
Cummins is Scientology’s second-wealthiest donor, only surpassed by Bob and Trish Duggan, and he’s given more than $130 million in personal donations to the church that we’ve been able to document. (He’s probably given much, much more.)
And besides all that cheddar, Tom has also been very generous with his time, showing up at almost every major event put on by church leader David Miscavige in recent years. That’s Tom in the front row, for example, with actors Elisabeth Moss and Michael Peña at last year’s L. Ron Hubbard Birthday Event, giving Miscavige an ovation in the picture at the top of the page. It’s hard to miss him at these events, because of his height and his sartorial splendor.
Cummins is a very big deal in Scientology. And this is twice now that we’ve seen him recruited to make these videos, essentially begging Scientologists to show up at something, this time while sitting at his desk in front of his certificates (including OT 8, the big one), and his Platinum Invictus With Honors trophy, for donating $65 million to the IAS (besides the $70 million he’s given to “Ideal Org” projects). He and his wife Victoria took home that one at last year’s IAS gala in England…

The part I remember the most is the mic rubbing against
his shirt (?) and making rustling noises throughout his pitch.

There is a audio plugin to fix that, I kept thinking.

The reason no audio engineering tech was applied to the rustling noises, it's because
Ron never wrote any policies that would allow the materials to be alter-ised. Ron
never mentioned audio plug-ins. He certainly knew about them based on the fact that
he has perfect wholetrack recall of everything that happened over the past 76 trillion
years.

If it's not written it's not true. This also explains why Scientology doesn't do anything
about the debunking, whistleblowing and trolling from the internet that has effectively
destroyed what little was left of the cult's already-crashed public relations ratings.

. . . because Ron never mentioned anything about entheta from Facebook, Google Search,
YouTube, Twitter or ChatGPT in his books or HCOBs.
