We want to thank former London Scientology staffer Alex Barnes-Ross for once again sending along to us some of the great news coming out of Scientology’s UK headquarters, Saint Hill Manor in East Grinstead, England.
In this case, it’s a bumper crop of testimonials about completing the initial Operating Thetan levels at what was once the home of Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard.
(Now that they have completed OT 5, like all Scientologists anywhere in the world these pilgrims will need to go on to the Flag Land Base in Clearwater, Florida for OT 6 and OT 7, and then the cruise ship Freewinds in the Caribbean for OT 8 to complete the Bridge to Total Freedom.)
We think it’s fascinating to read these success stories and think about what they are leaving out: That each of these OT levels carry price tags of tens of thousands of dollars, and some of them can take quite a long time. (We’ve talked to multiple people who said OT 7 in particular took more than a decade to complete.)
And of course, besides the steep price that a few people are still paying in 2026, it’s kind of amazing that they are pursuing these “gains” when there’s no longer any secret about what’s in these upper-level auditing levels.
So keep that in mind as you read them: As you do the Grades, go Clear, and approach the OT levels, you learn that you are actually a spiritual being (a “thetan”) that is trillions of years old. On OT 2, you learn that you are still carrying around harmful mental implants that were booby traps set by evil psychiatrists trillions of years ago. On OT 3, you learn that you are not only yourself, you are carrying around hundreds or thousands of invisible “body thetans” that are themselves separate beings, and that you need to spend time locating them with an E-meter and chasing them away.
