The Danny Masterson Trial thread

Oh I beg to differ mims
Scientology is on trial and wogs are finding out just how out-ethics Scientology really is by telling parishioner’s / rape victims
they “pulled it in”
I love it
Karmic justice kicking David Miscavige’s wee little ass
Miscavige is losing it and the cult will receive irreparable damage furthering its demise
Yes, Scientology's Ethics is very important to the trial because the victims took too long before reporting the rapes. The reason why the delay is key. I'd say that Scientology is guilty of crimes here for covering up Masterson's crimes.

i still think the CoS would love a mistrial and/or an appeal, because it can be used to bolster their best defense at this point with their key audience, the internal members, that the wog judicial system is unreliable and that poor Danny (who at this point can painted as having stopped offending after their extensive cure) was indeed best handled by scn 'justice', 'ethics' and 'tech'.

it seems to me DM may be most concerned with defending how it got to this point, rather than hoping to sweep it under the rug with the loyal following.

does that make any sense to you?
Maybe. I lost the ability to predict what Davey will and will not do a long time ago. I'm not that good with predicting the behavior of irrational individuals unless I get to intimidate them first.

As weird as it sounds, if scientology can't knock down the credibility of the victims, then their best strategy might be to just "take the hit, move on as fast as possible". Not drag this black-PR-generator to go on and on.
I agree with you. I think there's serious discussion going on between OSA and Masterson to take whatever plea deal he can get rather than allow this to drag on.

Just some comments on my part....

I mentioned Billy Baldwin....yesterday...

And today Tony Ortega mentioned him....and also stated that for Danny Masterson's first Court Appearance....that Billy was part of his large entourage then......as he was today in Court.

OK.....so Danny has a large entourage of Hollywood people....

But I just don't get the strategy for either Danny or Billy for him to be in Court today.

Why would Defendant Danny want the "recognizable" brother of Alex Baldwin.....hanging with him in Court today?

Billy's brother Alex just killed a woman on a film set recently..... He's been on TV giving interviews....and non-stop News reports.....and a Funeral.....and weeping on YouTube....and on and on....

I would think that at least some of the Jurors would make that family connection....

I just don't see the upside for either of them. What is the upside for Danny? What is the upside for Billy?

Tony stated in one of his videos that it isn't likely anyone will recognize Billy. He doesn't believe the jurors are remotely star struck either. He says they are a really close family (masterson/baldwin/phillips). I believe they are a large bunch of EGOs. at least the baldwins are. So any exposure to them is good ??!!!

personally have a hard time believing that scn's in their family have anything to do with bible thumpers at all. billy supposedly there showing support. wtf. okay, apparently masterson is rather an scn in name only. chynna didn't show up though.

I think they'd love a mistrial, an appeal would mean they lost in the first place, so they wouldn't want that. Anything that results in a not guilty sentence (even if it's on a technicality) will allow them to loudly proclaim that he wasn't found guilty and it was all religious persecution.

If sweeping it under the rug with a plea deal or something was an option I think they would gladly have taken it, or forced masterson to take it if they could.

I agree with you. I think there's serious discussion going on between OSA and Masterson to take whatever plea deal he can get rather than allow this to drag on.

If they could force him to take a plea deal and keep the church out of it I think they would've taken that option.

The more I think about it the more I am coming to the conclusion that the church doesn't really have much control over masterson, I think to a large degree he is doing what he thinks is best during all of this. I think this might be a real world example of something that's been discussed in other threads. Second and third generation members just aren't as dedicated and willing to do whatever the church says. You get some of these dedicated old timers who truly believe that Scientology is the only hope for salvation (on this planet) and they'll do anything Scientology wants them to. I think if OSA came to Masterson and said take a plea deal, we have to keep Scientology out of this, Masterson would've said no way, I'll take my chances in court. I doubt he'd be willing to go to prison for Scientology.

but they fired him at least. immediately.

Because they were afraid her dad might go to the cops, because he quit Scientology over this. Once someone leaves Scn, HCO has no further leverage on him.

If they thought her dad had been successfully cowed to submit, I don't think the sup would have been fired

THE next day, Gorman and Stewart told Stewart’s father. Michael Stewart took his family out of the church and hid his daughter. A few days later, he told church authorities what Williams had done.

“A deputy special affairs officer told me not to go to the police,” said the elder Stewart. “If we did, we’d lose Jennifer to child services.”

^^^^^^

I'm confused as to what the you are talking about....and who you are talking about.

But that is ok. I guess I haven't kept up with the thread and names...

I don't see how Scientology can be kept at arms length in this trial.....

The 3 Plaintiffs went to the "Scientology Police" first....as they knew they had to. ( Ethics Officers and IJC ) They were required to do this.....

So going to "regular police" was basically off the table for them....at first. So that brings in Scientology...

Thursday....for yesterday. Scientology in house attorney threatens victims....

This is a good one. Very revelatory.... Moxon's involvement....
