Longtime reader Once Born sent us photos from his trip to check on Scientology’s “Ideal Org” project in Manchester, England. And he found that work is definitely underway!
It’s a difficult place to find. All I knew going in was that it was at the junction of Chester Road and Northumberland Road.
The building I found there was covered in scaffolding, and the scaffolding was covered with that sheet material that saves people and objects falling from it. I’m not even sure I was in the right place. It looks a lot less impressive than it does in photographs.
I didn’t take any pictures of the five workers I saw, because they were obviously the real deal, with the right, legally required safety gear. I did take photos of their toolboxes, though. Their tools are the real thing, too.
I also saw them working. Someone made a mistake up on the scaffold, out of sight behind the sheeting, and I heard some extraordinary cursing. A few work lights are visible too.
They are not removing asbestos. There was none of the decontamination sheds behind the building that I saw when that job was done at Plymouth Org.
