Our man in London Alex Barnes-Ross has spotted even more evidence of Scientology’s big new rollout. Rumored for years, the church’s new focus on children is here, and it appears to be going worldwide.

In Los Angeles, one of Scientology’s major headquarters, quite a crowd of youngsters was assembled as the new course room had its grand opening.

“From new books to new friendships, this weekend was one to remember,” the church posted with these images.

Those images, even though obviously directed, staged and posed, don't come close to the genuine and natural joy I see in my grandson's face when I take him to school, to his public kindergarten class, and when the bell rings and he and all the kids stream out at the end of the day. And he can actually already read and write a bit, actual functional education.
Years ago, my ex had my older son enrolled at "the Ranch" Scientology "school, and had I know at the time how they were treating him, I'd have flown out there, rescued him, and crippled a few people.
It isn't only what hell you're putting a child through in a Scientology-controlled environment, its the happy and enriching life you're denying them.

What happens when the kid doesn't want to go on course? He'd rather play at the park or whatever. That's a BI, time to handle, ethics and word-clearing. What if they complete the course but don't want to re-sign? Again, a BI and time to handle. Sad that it's going to teach them from a young age that their own wants and desires are wrong. Scientology knows what's best for them and if they don't get with the program then they're wrong and need to be handled.

I'm very curious to see how much staying power this has, as seen from the photos there really aren't that many kids to begin with. Will they still be active on course 6 months from now? How many of them? Also very telling that in LA they can only get that many kids together for a photo.
