RHONY star Rebecca Minkoff defends being both Jewish and a Scientologist and says critics of the religion 'have the wrong information' Daily Mail

Well you can't argue with the words of a "Real Housewives" member; they fall solidly between supermarket tabloids and Wile E. Coyote on the credibility scale. :-)

The fashion designer is also Jewish despite growing up in Scientology

she may be ethnically and culturally Jewish, but i doubt she's observant, so it's meaningless if not deceptive, like when she says:

'Being Jewish is my religion, obviously. And the other one is really an applied philosophy....

except i see other CoS members who don't have such an obvious ethnic/religious identity, says saying scn is their 'religion' as if it is a PR talking point they've been coached to use to gain acceptance.

also, scientology.org says:

Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one's true spiritual nature.

of course it's not surprising to find both members and the cult speaking out of both sides of their mouth....

The "tech" on how to tell if a Scientologist is lying about the cult: Look to see if their tongue is moving.

Minkoff could quite easily straighten out and "handle" this PR mess by asking for advice from Juliette Lewis, who ran into a similar "CREEPY CELEBRITY CULT CONTRADICTION". This is where a Scientology celebrity confidently runs whatever cult caper they were handed and told to read, drill & apply with reporters.

earlier similar examples:

- - when OT III opera star Julia Migenes preposterously claimed that she had no idea
what "xenu" was because it has nothing to do with Scientology. Then she used her
total certainty to assure reporters that the mistaken reason they mistakenly think
OT III and Hubbard's handwritten and audio recorded information about Xenu is
part of Scientology is because ...people often confuse Ron's science fiction
writings with his scientific writings
.

- - when OT Juliet Lewis proudly informed the 2.38 billion Christians in the world
that when Ron said "...the man on the cross--there was no Christ" (and that
Jesus is a 17 trillion year old implant designed to enslave all beings) what he
really meant was that Scientology respects and loves Jesus and countless
millions of Scientologists "celebrate Christmas!"

- - or the time when OT Anne Archer was questioned about Hubbard's freakishly
delusional bullshit claims (like the ones about "body thetans" or OTs being able to
"...rip the air cover off the planet") and she responded by defiantly (and very
melodramatically like a ridiculously over-expressive silent movie actress) glaring
into the videocamera and screeching "Do I look brainwashed to you?!!"

Yup, that's all Juliette Lewis would need to do to help coach Minkoff thru this sticky pr quicksand:

MINKOFF
Oh my god, Juliette I am terrified of being sent to ethics
and losing my eternity because I sabotaged Ron's bridge
to total freedom by answering a reporter's question non-standardly.

LEWIS
Oh, that's not a problem at all honey. Just do what I did. Just
go back in there and tell them that you "always celebrate
Christmas and have a Christmas tree every year!"

MINKOFF
Isn't that going to sound weird if I already told them
that I have 2 different conflicting religions of
Scientology and Judaism at the same time?

LEWIS
No, not at all. Just tell them that Scientology helped you "expand
so much
" that now you are able to have 3 religions at the same
time, Scientology and Judaism and Christianity!"

The "tech" on how to tell if a Scientologist is lying about the cult:
Look to see if their tongue is moving.

...your observation actually confirms Dr. Hubbard's scientific discovery that:

"When the TA is moving, do nothing"

To wit, when a Scientologist's Tongue Action happens, do nothing.

Ergo, when a Scientologist speaks...

Do not buy a book.
Do not take a "stress test"
Do not allow yourself to get "body routed"
Do not take an OCA personality test (because everyone who takes it turns out to have a very bad personality)
Do not take an IQ test (because you already failed the "IQ" test by letting a Scientologist give you any test)
Do not let a scientologist "find your ruin" (because all 8.03 billion people on earth have the identical ruin, that they have not yet paid for their "bridge")
Do not allow a scientologist to give you an r-factor how the fake tech can make your real life ideal.
Do not let a scientologist ask the c/s for your personal "tech estimate"—because everyone's tech estimate is based on confidential data from Ron's "research" on the 8th Dynamic (i.e. infinity).

One may conclude that that last admonition about "infinity" is a satirical exaggeration. However, ask yourself this question:

SINCE 1950, DID ANY SCIENTOLOGIST EVER NOT HAVE UNHANDLED CASE THAT
REQUIRED A NEW TECH ESTIMATE? IN THE PAST THREE-QUARTERS OF A CENTURY
DID EVEN ONE (1) SCIENTOLOGIST EVER REACH THE GRADE CHART'S STATED
GOAL? THERE IS, IN FACT, ONLY ONE TECH ESTIMATE AND IT IS
IDENTICAL FOR EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET: "MORE"

There's an entire thread about Juliette Lewis back on the original ESMB:
Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview)

More recently, she claimed she no longer identifies as a Scientologist. Hopefully that is true. :)

"In an interview with Time in 2015, Lewis remarked about protecting her freedom of choice and religion, and being annoyed at people's misconceptions about Scientology: "Whatever people's conceptions are of me, I think it's cute. I roll with it".[119] By 2021, she began to distance herself from Scientology, telling The New York Times and The Washington Post that she is a spiritualist and does not identify as a Scientologist.[120][121]"

That's quite interesting.

Naturally, even though i first met Juliette when she was around 6 or 7 (and she already told me she wanted to be a "movie star" when she grew up) I don't really have any slightest guess about whether what she said to the New York Times (in 2021, mentioned above) was:

1. Her actual belief.
2. Her Scientology's handler's instructions of how to derail, gaslight & hoax reporters.
3. Something she just creatively made up on the spot to squeeze out of any further inquiry into Scientology's insane policies, delusional beliefs and terror campaigns against anyone daring to debunk the cult such as critics & whistleblowers.
4. Something else entirely*

*
Never underestimate the power of a Scientologist to respond in a way that is inordinately more bizarre, non-sequitur and obviously far more illogical & supremely irrational than anyone could have ever possibly imagined. (e.g. "Okay, let's see... people in the area of Flag are protesting against Scientology's newly exposed human rights abuses, let's do this to handle it and get back in ARC. Let's have some of our top OTs rent NAZI COSTUMES so they can march up and down a main boulevard so that people in the town will begin to love us!")
