One consequence of Scientology leader David Miscavige waiting so long to reveal the date of this year’s IAS gala — taking place over three nights from October 31 to November 2 — is that the church is hurrying now to get members amped up enough to actually make the trip to Saint Hill Manor, Scientology’s UK headquarters in East Grinstead, England.
Of Scientology’s big annual events, this one is special for a couple of reasons. First, because it’s when the biggest donors receive their trophies at the Patrons Ball for all the huge checks they’ve written over the last year. But also because in recent years, this is the one major event that Tom Cruise, a resident of the UK, actually attends.
After the break for the pandemic, the event was held in 2023 and 2024, and Cruise showed up for both of them.
For that reason alone, Miscavige will want to see a big turnout to show his best pal.
Monday we saw the effort that one of Scientology’s biggest mega-donors, Tom Cummins, made to get the word out and convince his fellow L. Ron Hubbard enthusiasts to make the trip.
As Alex Barnes-Ross makes preparations for another protest at this year’s event, he sent us a couple more hype videos that church members are passing around.
Colombian actress Maria Lara has been on the cover of Scientology’s Celebrity magazine, and she’s also a Freedom Medal winner.
