Saw this on a social media site. Does anyone know if it is true?

"LAPD are so corrupt and in bed with Scientology that they are trying to classify the anti-Scientology protestors as a gang, so that they can monitor and have them prosecuted for gang involvement"

It's in reference to protesters who picket outside the center at Sunset near Vermont in Hollywood.

Seems like these street protests and police controversies are the most significant
events going on in years. Not a peep from Tony. Am I missing something?

it's complicated....

i think part of it is that he hasn't cared for the really aggressive protesters like Angry Gay Pope, and the previous generation of 'First Amendment audit' types who stuck their cameras in people's faces and seemed to be taking out their passive aggression in the sort of ways that i think are understood by those really familiar with cults as completely unproductive and even counter-productive including just reinforcing what believers think about the outside world being dangerous and set against them. so when Will came along with a toned-down and better organized approach, it got missed that it was not more of the same but turning into something that could be as big as Anonymous. and i don't think Tony is quite set up to cover it, his site is sort of based more on coverage of what the CoS is doing and research, than reporting on activities except where he has a good point of contact like Alex. not that i don't think he might have figured out a way to provide some coverage that fit in with the focus of his site, but i think i can understand how it ended up where it has.

and there may be more to it, as well. i think he finds YouTube hard to cover, which i think there's something to as there's now probably more scn related content that anyone could watch if they devoted all their waking hours to it, plus there may be issues with some of the personalities (which i myself don't want to wade into by saying any more).

Tony and Aaron are not friends. I'm also under the impression that Chris and Tony are kinda looking at it as: "Kids doing shit for lolz and likes, while not caring really that much about the core issues".

Maybe I'm just projecting my own views, because at their worst that's how it seemed to me.

I think it does have a positive impact on the general public - raises awareness and informs people on what are scientology front groups. I doubt it has a positive impact on those still in. I am quite sure it just reinforces the siege mentality. I remember when I was physically assaulted as a body router - it just made me double down.
