We heard this morning that Scientology has finally put out word to its followers that the IAS gala will take place the weekend of October 31-November 2 at its UK headquarters Saint Hill Manor in East Grinstead, England.
Former London staffer Alex Barnes-Ross will also be there with his third annual protest of the event.
We’ve been following the story as Scientology submitted a planning application that will add a carpark and more amenities to the property, where they do not have permission for the giant tent they put up for the three-day party.
Commenting has now closed on the application, but before that deadline came, Alex submitted his considered opinion about the church’s plans. We thought you’d want to see his objections to the project.
Dear Mid-Sussex District Council,
The Church of Scientology’s proposed development of its Saint Hill compound is a prime example of this organisation’s attitude that it is above the law and the needs of their parishioners supersedes that of the local community and environment.
