Karen de la Carriere let us know word had reached her that her former husband, Scientology’s “president,” Heber Jentzsch, had died recently. It turned out that he passed away on October 25, and he was 89 years old.
Karen then wrote us a touching tribute to Heber, and the son they had together, Alexander, who died in 2012.
Now, our researcher friend who dives into old press collections has once again found some fascinating items about Heber’s remarkable life.
We think you’ll see that his journey was pretty unique.

Dear Editor:
The attorney general of the state of Utah, E.R. Callister, has started an “all-out” campaign against polygamy. He said that they have some 5,000 names but that the number is closer to 30,000 people.
He said that the last State Legislature approved $20,000 to combat polygamy.
If one divides 5,000 into 20,000 it will only go four times; which means the state has given four dollars to fight each case. This is entirely too small amount to undertake such a great legal procedure. My questions are: Who or what agency is responsible for this great undertaking? Who is supplying the money for this project?
