The reality is that Trump claimed that there was a ceasefire. Both Iran and Israel later acknowledged that they agreed to a ceasefire.

That one or both of them later violated the agreement doesn't alter the fact that they agreed to a ceasefire.

And yes, Qatar was a key player behind the scenes. Trump wanted a ceasefire, and as is frequently done in this type of situation between two hostile parties, he asked a neutral 3rd party (Qatar) for help, and they did.

I've answered that in a previous post. There is little doubt that Harris would have continued the Obama Doctrine and its doppleganger duplicate, the Biden Doctrine, with regard to Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons. To wit, under her watch she would have found ways to further FUND Iran's development of nuclear weapons and also their provision of hundreds of billions of dollars of weaponry to its multiple terrorist proxies so they also could wage war vs. Israel and the USA. That funding would either be done with cash (on pallets or otherwise, directly handed to Iran as did Obama) and/or by canceling, negating, ignoring or otherwise corruptly allowing or helping Iran to use stealth treachery to avoid financial sanctions on oil—which has the same result as just handing them massive cash payments.

And she would have continued trying to get Iran to negotiate and eventually sign yet another "nuclear deal". The same exact "deals" that Iran has been covertly breaking every day for decades. It's a pretend deal where Iran pretends to not be aggressively developing nuclear weapons to murder all Jews & Americans. And where American Democratic Politicians pretend they are preventing the world's leading sponsor of terror from acquiring nuclear weapons. All Iranian & American politicians win that game and their populations end up dying--but that's not relevant as long as the politicians and regimes remain in power, famous & rich.

CUT TO: Scene of Iran dropping nuclear bombs on Israel and New York, while Kamala Harris is levels underground in a deluxe presidential bunker. She's watching videos of the mushroom clouds over major Israeli and US cities---and the mounting death toll numbers--and she's drunk. And she is convulsively cackling. Later that evening she sends a video message to America where she consoles them for the tens of millions of deaths, while assuring them in an incomprehensibly rambling word salad speech that they should be "joyful" about "...what can be, unburdened by what has been!"

seriously, i think it's way too speculative. and i've noticed that such speculation tends to follow popular misconceptions, sometimes completely getting things backwards about what politicians in particular actually do in contrast to what people for various reasons assume and expect of them (think for example deficit spending, and who plays as being against it as versus who most runs up deficits).

maybe she wouldn't have made what could well turn out to have been a mistake that may actually have made the situation worse -- though i'm just saying that as a sort of thought experiment, given so much is really unknown. but stay tuned for a month or more and see if Iran doesn't maybe make a nuclear breakout with the enriched uranium that until a week ago the IAEA was keeping tabs on that was almost certainly not destroyed and is now totally on the loose, along with equipment that may well have survived or some of which is in other newer and more secret locations, now that the Dear Leaders there have their backs against a wall and may see nukes as their only chance at survival (compared to it just being an element of their 'destruction of Israel' ideology/propaganda).

or possibly that there's no realistic way to neutralize them, and other approaches to Iran's nuclear program are required.

btw, someone more versed in international and military affairs pointed out to me, that in striking Fordow the US was risking the deterrent value of its GBUs -- now bad actors will know just what they can and can't do, and how to build facilities to resist them (and the Iranians may have had it confirmed that they already had it right).
