Boston

It appears it has to do with a video Cubs made wherein he covertly records a conversation wth the staff inside the Org. He had been protesting outside that place for months afterwards, but they only pressed charges after he filed a police report against Steve Goodwin for issuing a verbal death threat ("you're fucking dead").

Several years ago the Boston Org (both Day and Fdn) bought the dilapidated Alexandra Hotel hoping to turn it into an Idle Org. Then they sold it and bought some out of the way office building which, after probably 10 years, has been sitting vacant. (See earlier post in this thread.)
Just saw this post on Facebook that the Alexandra Hotel will finally be renovated and turned into a hotel again.

Text from the FB post:
"Developers have received approval to convert the former Hotel Alexandra, vacant since the early 1990s at the corner of Washington Street and Mass Ave in the South End, into a 68-room hotel, including being awarded a $6 million grant to restore the building's facade."

I just heard that Steve Goodwin passed from cancer. I don't know exactly when or any other details; I'll add them later if I hear any.

I didn't know him real well as he worked in Boston Day or when I was on Foundation. But we did work closely together on a project for a couple weeks and I had a very positive impression of him from that.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that. Steve was a hardcore Scientologist, a true believer. So sad.
RIP Steve.

Sad to hear about Steve. We had the same post on opposite shifts (day/foundation) for a while. But I never really got close to him. I don't think he got close to anyone. He never seemed happy. Just very serious all the time. His wife at the time, Nan Goodwin was very cool. I liked her a lot mostly, though she could switch into the Scientology Exec Badass mode, as we all could from time to time.

Yeah, she was!

Any idea as to whether she ever left the Co$?

I'm trying to find the correct obituary for Steve. Is this him?

Pretty sure that's not him after looking at the obit pics. The obit also says he was a beloved family man. Since when has a scn. lifer dedicated himself or herself to family? Mentions his company but nothing about scn.

As for whether Nan left Cos?? I'd be curious to know but I doubt it. I think she went on to be the ED at some other org. The only thing she left was Steve himself for some other guy; went out-2D. Oh so ethical.

Several years ago the Boston Org (both Day and Fdn) bought the dilapidated Alexandra Hotel hoping to turn it into an Idle Org.

it was decades ago.

they after they decided it was unsuitable and ended up buying the modern buildings in Alston, they spend the better part of a decade trying to sell the building off, i'm assuming holding out for an unrealistic price (as they have done with several other properties that still sit unsold like in St. Louis and Albuquerque). after at least one attempt at a deal fell through, they did just a couple of years ago find a party who may have had more money than sense -- the transaction did go through, but then the planned redevelopment faltered. so this is at least the second attempt, and at this point i wouldn't believe anything until it actually happens....

Definitely not him per the bio. Owned a flooring business for 40 years. Wife, Carol. Steve had 2 kids that I recall. Gunnar, and a girl. I forget her name. Bio lists a bunch of other kids.

Steve was alive and feisty 8 months ago.

It was less than two months ago that someone alerted me, and it was someone who should have known. I believe it IS correct information, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I would like to get confirmation on it one way or the other.

I don't know if this has already been posted on this forum, but Chris Harrison passed away last year while still in the cult. Patty Moher posted that news this morning here.

^^^^^^^^

I hoped I was wrong about the above, but I just confirmed it with an additional source.

Also, I was told that in the past couple of months, both Heather Landrey & Ellen Garrison passed away, both from cancer.
