Amateur Journalist Requesting Interviews

Hi I'm a new user, my name is J.M. I have never personally been associated with COS, but I am studying journalism as my career and have a passionate focus on victims of Scientology. As someone who's grown up on the internet, the acceptance of victims has gotten lower and worsened.

I am asking anyone who is comfortable to please respond and/or message me (you can go through here, or you can get me on my email [email protected]). I want to ask basic questions and personal questions. There is no requirement to answer something you're uncomfortable with - and there is also no requirement to share your name. I only want to hear and share stories in support of my essay.

People that would especially be helpful are past auditors and anyone previously associated with the Celebrity Centre. However, anyone and everyone is encouraged to share with me.

I can't get to everyone, but I thank anyone for responding.

But if you want a lot of data from ex-scientologists, you would get quite a willing group of sources and participants if you just asked questions on an open thread like this one.

Is there any reason you need to PRIVATELY interview people or ask PRIVATE questions?

But if you want a lot of data from ex-scientologists, you would get quite a willing group of sources and participants if you just asked questions on an open thread like this one.

The problem is that people here have no way of being sure that YOU are who you say you are, and not an agent for Scientology.

Which is why the “thread on this forum” approach is preferred.

I suppose you could screen and filter ex-scientologists that way. But it might be a lot faster to just ask all of the unidentified posters on this thread the question: "DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?"

If the answer is 'no' they might be willing to reveal more personal details in a private conversation with you.

However, if the answer is "yes", it is unlikely that they would leave any breadcrumbs that could be traced back to their home where the pets reside.

(.....have you followed scientology closely enough that you understood the above punchline? LOL )

Good point. And there are some others who likewise use their actual names and have a lot of data about Scientology. Like the estranged twin brother of Ron Hubbard, Don Hubbard (see avatar and signature line).

I wanna add to this thread that there is no guarantee any of this would be published professionally - this is a jumpstart on my final project for college. I'm only a freshman right now, but I really want to prove to myself that this is something I can do with my disabilities. That's why I want to stress anonymity first.

Thank you all for the tips so far, they're very helpful. I want to do this in the most accessible and comfortable way I can. I don't want to add to the stress I can imagine many are under.

Scientologists have been known for poisoning pets to silence the disaffected that may have too much to say.

I believe that they did this to a Judge's pet to try and get favourable results. Can't recall the details just now, but I'm sure some others here will provide details.

You are right, it's an insider's joke. . .

Over the many decades while Scientology has been applying their most notoriously horrible "FAIR GAME POLICY", there have been countless stories of the cult's "Office of Special Affairs" hiring rogue private investigators and their affiliated thugs to threaten, stalk and terrorize whistleblowers in order to silence them or derail any civil or criminal legal actions against the "church".

Fair Game's "black op" tactics are diabolically diverse and criminal in nature and if you recall the "horses head" scene in the movie "THE GODFATHER", you will have a sense of how utterly senseless the cult's cruelty can be according to multiple stories of Scientology critics or witnesses that shockingly found their beloved pets dead by poisoning.

If this perhaps seems outrageously bizarre and extraordinarily unlikely to have ever happened---welcome to the world of Scientology and congratulations on graduating your first introductory course in what Scientology actually is behind the glowing, grinning, blinkless and faultlessly-friendly people out there on the nation's sidewalks trying to "help you" with a 100% free "Personality Test" or "Stress Test".

If I were you, since you have never been IN the cult (or privy to any of it's super-secrets that haven't already been published hundreds of thousands of times on websites and in books, documentaries, testimonials, criminal trials, civil litigation and other widely reported stories of crazy cult crap) I would not feel endangered in the slightest by re-publishing any of the clownish and thuggish tactics that you would learn of from the internet. If however you miraculously happened upon some new blockbuster revelation that could collapse the cult even further than it has already fallen in the past couple decades, well the LAST thing that would be on the once-litigious cult's mind would be to sue you because they would be terrorized of the facts coming out in a court of law (see "Streisand Effect").

I don't know if you are aware of this, but L Ron Hubbard created the "Fair Game" policy many years ago to both punish and silence those who leave or speak out against the church in any way.

Paraphrasing, it goes: "Destroy them utterly in any way possible". There is no such thing as a crime being committed against the enemy. There are many members who take this literally and are incredibly nasty against others. Indeed, many Scientologists (especially in the Sea Org) who are also incredibly nasty to each other. There are no shortage of stories out there about this.

Anyway, the Fair Game policy was officially renounced not long ago after it became too well known publicly and cast a shadow over the Church. Unofficially though, it still exists. The main caveat now is to do anything to destroy the enemy, but ensure nothing comes back at the church that would hurt their image. The game remains the same, just the titles have been changed.

Poisoning someone's pets was considered fair play in their eyes. Terrible attitude for sure, but this is what cults do. We see similar things in other cults like the ultra woke, feminism, LGBTQ, politics, other religious cults (Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc). It only their public image concerns that hold them back from getting too extreme. Note that I am not talking about your typical everyday follower here, but the hardcore radicals in them. You may be surprised to learn just how many popular movements are actually malevolent cults once you get past a certain level in their hierarchies. Scientology is only one of them, but its heady days are pretty much over now.

the pets of SPs is not as sinister as you would try to make it appear.

Thus, as you can clearly see, even the dead cat gains all of the remarkable upside benefits of this WIN-WIN deal!

Certainly adds to seeing how a cult mind operates and how logical fallacy reasoning is employed to justify heinous acts. Doesn't make it less evil. Rather like how a serial killer justifies taking their victims.

It is the inherent danger of cult follower type logic. They just babble something off and they all go, "Yeah, right on!" Then they go and do bad things.

I will add though that most Scientologists would never do such things. Many do hold onto general moral values. It's just when they rise above a certain level that their logic begins to twist and black and white morals rules turn to gray or even flips around to reverse.

And, I'd go further and suggest that NO Scientologists would ever do such things as killing pets.

That's not a moral decision, it's a "greatest good decision". If nobody gets caught, then there is no convicted criminal. Thus, did a crime occur? ("If a tree falls in the forest....")

That's why they'd "delegate the cycle" to a wog private investigator—who would most likely (in turn) "delegate the cycle" to one of their DB-THUG OPERATIVES.

Plausible deniability! That's the standard tech of how to commit heinous crimes that don't show up when you are vetted for
every micro-overt you ever committed (while you are waiting to hear if your petition was approved by the supremely ethical church elders) who will decide if you are ethical enough to win an INVITATION to the OT levels.

The people that approve or disapprove of your petition are the same people that ordered the pets to be killed. Being at the very top of senior management, they are not worried about getting onto the OT Levels because there is nobody above them on the command channel to sign their petition. So they can sign it themselves. LOL

According to the Scientology scriptures, if killing pets is the greatest good then only the failure to kill the pets could constitute a crime.
