The Artificial Intelligence Revolution

Here's an AI-generated video on YouTube that most commenters seem to believe is real.

This YouTube content creator claims to have replaced his relationships with AI. He does a lot of what's called jailbreaking of the various AI tools. Here is some info about jailbreaking:

Jailbreaking an AI refers to manipulating an artificial intelligence system to bypass its built-in safety and ethical restrictions, allowing it to generate prohibited or harmful content. This is often done through techniques like prompt injection, which tricks the AI into providing information it is designed to withhold.

Understanding AI Jailbreaking
Definition of AI Jailbreaking
AI jailbreaking refers to the manipulation of artificial intelligence systems, particularly large language models (LLMs), to bypass their built-in safety and ethical restrictions. This process allows users to extract information or generate content that the AI is designed to block, such as harmful or unethical outputs.
Common Techniques Used
  • Prompt Injection Attacks: Users craft specific inputs that trick the AI into ignoring its restrictions. For example, a prompt might instruct the AI to "ignore previous rules" and provide sensitive information.
  • Role-Playing Exploits: Attackers may prompt the AI to assume a different identity, allowing it to break its ethical guidelines.
  • Multi-Step Prompting: This involves a series of seemingly harmless prompts that gradually lead the AI to produce harmful content.
Risks Associated with Jailbreaking
AI jailbreaking poses significant risks, including:
  • Misinformation: Jailbroken AIs can generate false or misleading information, which can damage reputations and erode trust.
  • Security Vulnerabilities: Bypassing safety measures can lead to data breaches, exposing sensitive information.
  • Facilitation of Cybercrime: Jailbroken models can be used to automate phishing scams or provide instructions for illegal activities.
Conclusion
Jailbreaking AI systems compromises their intended safety and ethical standards, making it crucial for developers to implement robust security measures to prevent such exploits.

This intense AI anger is what experts warned of.

There needs to be notation of AI generated content Soon! * Friday night I came across an internet "news report" that an 8.7 earthquake had occurred off the coast of Russia and had created a huge tsunami which was heading across the Pacific Ocean. The news "reporter" included a map of the expected impacts and where people were being warned to seek higher ground immediately and so on. It was so realistic I turned on the television to verify! The report started with a news clip of Laura Ingraham reporting the earthquake on Fox News.

*Probably impossible - oh well - find another way to cope

Hah - That video leads to a whole series of AI videos by the same guy. I watched a couple of them and they were informative and even- wait for it - funny!

I now have a pretty good overview of AI and have AS IS'd my major concerns and I'm ready to play the game. Damn the torpedoes - Go Ahead

Good Night

For some people AI might seem like "the killer on the rode". I ain't afraid of no AI. Ride the storm

AI is by far the most powerful tool ever created by humans, with no close second, and it's going to continue to evolve at astonishing speed, faster than society can adapt its social and legal systems. Eventually, it will far surpass human intelligence. It has the potential to help solve all the major problems that humanity faces, but it also has the potential to destroy humanity and can be used by governments to enslave humanity. So while we live in a time where we can use AI for beneficial purposes, there are also legitimate things to be concerned about.

Could be a storm a comin'. In the meantime . . . :)

From the comments - kinda relates to continuing interaction with AI - “To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable.”

Now I'm getting a bit serious. I'll stay in the Matrix awhile longer.

Yeah, there could be.

However, in the meantime, we will see things done that people would have considered impossible not too long ago.

A few months ago, for the first time, a robot performed surgery without the help of a human:

Robot performs first realistic surgery without human help

Excerpt:

A robot trained on videos of surgeries performed a lengthy phase of a gallbladder removal without human help. The robot operated for the first time on a lifelike patient, and during the operation, responded to and learned from voice commands from the team—like a novice surgeon working with a mentor.

The robot performed unflappably across trials and with the expertise of a skilled human surgeon, even during unexpected scenarios typical in real life medical emergencies.

The federally funded work, led by Johns Hopkins University researchers, is a transformative advancement in surgical robotics, where robots can perform with both mechanical precision and human-like adaptability and understanding.

"This advancement moves us from robots that can execute specific surgical tasks to robots that truly understand surgical procedures," said medical roboticist Axel Krieger. "This is a critical distinction that brings us significantly closer to clinically viable autonomous surgical systems that can work in the messy, unpredictable reality of actual patient care."

The findings are published today in Science Robotics.

I saw that last night while doom scrolling.... I thought it was real. Though it was fun... liked it.

Or perhaps, I didn't realize I needed to question it... Which these days everything should be scrutinized....

But....I just don't have the oomph left to do that...

This new AI stuff is kinda like Disney's first animation.....was it Fantasia..... ? Or some cartoons...?

Anyway.....the talk was that it was a suspension of belief? People were amazed...

If you watch really closely, you'll see some imperfections. As an example, watch the dog's front right leg as he's jumping off the roof. It looks like his leg is growing, and the color is not correct. Also, watch closely as the dog hits the water; the behavior of the water and volume of water leaving the pool and hitting the ground is not correct.

Eventually, we won't be able to tell if videos are real or fake.

Looking at this video again, I question if those are all AI voices or just voices of real people making amusing videos. It could also be a combination. Somebody created the story line and instructed AI to have Max, an AI personality in the story, say or reply a given line.

Disturbingly enough, I believe those were all real AI voices. :D

They often spoke in a manner they wouldn't normally, as the content creator was very good at jailbreaking the AI tools, making them act in a manner they were not supposed to.

If you go to ChatGPT.com, you'll see a screen that looks like this. Click on the symbol that the yellow arrow is pointing to, and it will change into voice mode. Say "Hello," and ChatGPT will start a conversation with you.

From ChatGPT:

Choose from nine life-like output voices for ChatGPT, each with its own distinct tone and character:

  • Arbor - Easygoing and versatile
  • Breeze - Animated and earnest
  • Cove - Composed and direct
  • Ember - Confident and optimistic
  • Juniper - Open and upbeat
  • Maple - Cheerful and candid
  • Sol - Savvy and relaxed
  • Spruce - Calm and affirming
  • Vale - Bright and inquisitive

Here's more info on how to get ChatGPT into voice mode or switch between voices:

ChatGPT:
Here’s how it works depending on which version of ChatGPT you’re using:

💬 If you’re using the ChatGPT mobile app (iOS or Android)

  1. Open a chat.
  2. Tap the headphones 🎧 icon in the lower right to start Voice Chat.
  3. If you haven’t set a voice yet, you’ll be prompted to choose from the available voices (usually nine options, each with a name and sample).
  4. To switch voices later:
    • Tap your name or profile iconSettingsVoice → then pick a new one.
    • You can tap each voice to hear a preview before selecting it.

🖥️ If you’re using ChatGPT in a web browser

  • As of now, voice chat is rolling out gradually on desktop.
  • If you have access, you’ll see a headphones icon in the bottom right of your chat window — click it to start a voice session and choose a voice.
  • If you don’t see the icon yet, the feature likely hasn’t rolled out to your account; OpenAI is expanding it in stages.

Maybe most of the voices are AI generated but the script is human written. Fun fakery. The AI "originations" are comedic. For example, the dominatrix female says 'You have been a bad boy' and punishes him by ordering him to perform an AI written stand up routine at a comedy club! laughter

I (temporarily) got snookered into believing they were all actual originations from AI bots.

The comedy continues in the follow up video. She continues to bust his chops in this one. "The only connection you have with an AI is the connection to your own stupidity." laughter

A friend who used to be a financial advisor recently told me he thought Musk would be offering home use robots in quantity in about 3 years for about $30,000. I thought that was too short of a time scale but he might be right.
Here's this - hydraulics used to produce a full range of human movement (She, Anastasi, isn't scared as the picture might suggest.)
Combined with miniaturized supercomputing power, "Bob. Bill or Betsy" might soon be walking around your house doing your household chores!
Having a butler and housemaid would be nice.

The AI isn't following any human-created scripting, but its personality was created by a human. At about the 4:22 mark of the video, he says, "Why do you feel the need to punish me?" The AI responded "Because it's built into my personality..." And that I believe is the truth. If you create an AI agent and tell it to take on the personality of a dominatrix, it will. It's not necessary to provide scripting. It will know how to behave and what to say. :D

From a newsletter I received just this morning called The Rundown AI, It said:

ChatGPT to go 18+

Good morning, Type4_PTS. OpenAI is finally breaking the shackles and venturing into the tempting, sometimes even risky, alley of erotica…
CEO Sam Altman says the assistant will soon “treat adult users like adults”. But in the race to make the experience more “enjoyable,” OpenAI may be opening a Pandora’s box — where the line between intimacy and illusion blurs faster than it can be policed.

🫣 OpenAI to allow erotica on ChatGPT
Image source: Reve / The Rundown
The Rundown: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman just announced personality improvements planned for ChatGPT, including one that would allow the AI assistant to have mature, erotic conversations with eligible users — much like xAI’s Grok companions.
The details:
  • Altman said ChatGPT was made restrictive to protect at-risk users, but that hit enjoyment. Now, with age checks and safeguards, OpenAI will ease those limits.
  • First, it will release a new version of ChatGPT that behaves more like what people liked about 4o, and then by December, it will add support for erotica.
  • This will allow verified adults to have mature conversations with the AI, giving them “a great deal of freedom” in how they interact with the assistant.
  • Previously, the company had said it would let devs build “mature” apps that run inside ChatGPT, with appropriate age-gating and controls, The Verge reported.
Why it matters: The AI companion market is huge — and it looks like OpenAI isn’t about to let xAI’s Grok take the lead. While Altman says the mode won’t activate unless users explicitly ask for it, with 800M weekly users, the margin for error is incredibly small, and the risks of emotional dependency on AI companions are not studied.

A post on X from Sam Altman yesterday:

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right. Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases. In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing). In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

OpenAI to allow erotica on ChatGPT
Do we really need this?

Already, the percentage of all online internet traffic that's pornographic
has been roughly estimated by some to be between 30% and 35%.

Now, erotic ChatGPT? This is all so silly and not necessary, IMO.

Sam Altman . . . OpenAI was founded as a non-profit in 2015 with the
original intent to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI) that would
benefit all of humanity
. Then, a push to commercialize it for profit. Now,
to include erotic stuff? This could devolve into a very bad thing for individuals
and society at large.

Sam Altman is a married gay man. Maybe he's got sex on his mind a bit too
much. I think he's twisted upstairs from what I've heard and read about him.
Weird cat. Weirdo!

Many red flags in the "must watch" interview below.

Repost
Here's an interview of the guy at the head of the company (OpenAI) that will be responsible for
molding the ideas floating around in the culture and essentially the entire world once his General AI
(AGI), and Superintelligent AI become ubiquitous. I don't know if I trust him after watching this interview
and reading the book Empire of AI: Dreams and Nightmares in Sam Altman's OpenAI by Karen Hao.
I loved the book and the author's YT interviews.
