Recently during an episode of our podcast, Group Therapy, Marc and Claire Headley brought up the subject of L. Ron Hubbard’s 10-book series Mission Earth and its depraved content.

We took the opportunity to remind them that we had dived into that subject at the Underground Bunker several years ago, focusing in particular on some of the horrific accounts of child sex that Hubbard describes in the ninth volume of the series, Villainy Victorious.

Well, as if we hadn’t already turned your stomachs enough already, imagine our surprise when, going through some of our archival material leaked to us by former Scientologists, we discovered that we had files from the audiobook version of that book.

That’s just great, isn’t it.

And it was a Scientology production, so it was a full-blown dramatization with some very good voice actors. Also, it was heavily abridged and so you will be spared some of the print book’s sexual specificity.

Still, this is really gross stuff, and it’s ludicrous as science fiction. But let us remind you of the situation before we subject you to some audio.

I've never read any of Hubbard's sci-fi "bestsellers". I tried a few times to get thru "BATTLEFIELD EARTH" but something about it was so repulsive to me that I kept stopping and thinking "...this is total shit, I hate it". But I was a Scientologist at that time so I later picked it up and tried to start again from the beginning. Who knows what I was thinking, maybe I was simply obeying the superstition that if you don't like what you are reading it means you have "MISUNDERSTOOD WORDS", lol lol lol lol.

According to that mythological mental mumbojumbo, if one read Hitler's plan to build concentration camps to murder 6 million innocent people, if you didn't like it and "abandoned your study" of Hitlers gas chambers, it meant you needed word clearing.

Let's get to the point... So, I never read MISSION EARTH. Was there really child-sex stuff in there? How did Scientologists try to explain that away? I can only guess, was it something like this?

"Well, ummm, uhhh, ya see...um, Ron was just trying to brief
everyone on how downtone & destructive pedos are...and to
pity them because they are that way because they still have
a reactive mind, which we can handle 100% with our tech!"

A small reminder: Mission Earth was a (very heavy handed) satire in which Psychiatry and PR together form the Big Bad. As written, Psychiatry is the ultimate source of all the depravity in human society ("Psychiatric birth control").

That particular aspect of that story comes directly from Hubbard's writings and lectures concerning the implant inflicted upon victims of the Xenu Incident as described in various OT III related HCOB's and recorded lectures. In those materials, deviant sexual behavior was programmed into victims of the Xenu Incident literally as a means of birth control for the populations of the Galactic Confederacy.

As written ("Mission Earth"), Psychiatry is the ultimate source of all the depravity in human society. . .

From my current perspective on Hubbard's Orwellian and corny but perhaps effective mind-control tactic (to make up an "evil enemy" called "psychs") it was just the cringiest gaslighting one can imagine. Psychs?! LOL. Yes, psychs, those evil wholetrack bastards who have been traveling quadrillions of years through time and space simply to PREVENT BEINGS FROM ACQUIRING MAGICAL POWERS.

The stupid superstition also holds that the wicked psychs do this because they are afraid of free thetans who have miraculous powers that can hurt the psychs. And now in the 20th and 21st century, these demonic "psychs" are trying to disguise themselves in tweed sports coats and graying beards as mental healthcare professionals. All that while they plot to implant and paralyze and cripples anyone who dares try to gain the deified "powers" of Clear and OT.

But why "psychs"?

ANSWER: Because "psychs" were the people that terrified Hubbard the most because (according to Hubbard's own tech) all of Ron's frantic and fanatic CRITICISM of "psychs" would have to be due to the "psychs" missing Ron's withhold.

What missed withhold would that be, Ron? Would it be that you are a deranged and delusional con man and pathological liar who simply made up a fake "science" and sold it for over a half-million dollars a pop? Did the "psychs" miss your withhold Ron that you are a cult charlatan who is selling miracle cures for everything---when NONE of your miracles and cures work and you ended up trying to kill yourself after your lifetime of fail and betrayal could no longer be hidden in the "next great breakthrough"?

It's really a pathetic tale about a pathetic crook.

But that's my take on it. Hubbard was scared to death that "psychs" would expose his profoundly criminal enterprises and lies about him saving the universe.

I bought the Mission Earth series back in 82 and couldn't get into it. A real turn off with the vulgar characters. I got bored with it and also thought I'd a withhold as I wanted to blow. I bought the tapes eventually and they were a turn off. The voices were ridiculous. Hubbard's earlier pulp fiction for old sci fi mags was actually entertaining. Mission Earth had a coarse wavelength, and the invitation to provide my own imagery didn't fly. I gave the set of books to a staffer interested in sci fi.

Having freewheeled through a few planet dumping incidents, it's my sense that sexual criminals were 'made', rather than having gotten punished for already being perverts. And the drugs Hubbard was using to keep him vital were too much for an old man in bad shape. He couldn't perform anyway, so why psyche himself into a big dramatization. Looking back at that period, so much seemed to be happening rapidly in 1980..... then, all of a sudden, SHTF, veering off into decadence and mass scourges. Everywhere.

There's a big cache of Amazon Prime documentaries covering the ancient world, covering war, the Greek Myths, the mystery schools....you name it. Regarding the last, I had to notice that the adherents inevitably got destroyed. In any given time. No matter the Pythagoreans, the cult of Hypatia or Giordano Bruno. Those purporting to have rubbed elbows with any intentional causation from outside our physical realms, had to watch their back.....and choose their words carefully. The impetus was to destroy and put them out of commission. There surely has been intense paranoia about hidden influence and gaining power thereby. The competition not welcomed! Same pattern, over and over, again. Pretty soon the intense trauma of it all, makes everybody stay away.

Its simpler than all that. When he wrote Dianetics it was with the projection that the world of therapy would eat out of his hand and anoint him their master, and he'd rule the world, and instead he was roundly dismissed and marginalized, and while the book sold and he accumulated followers, they all were and remain subjects to weaponized against "the psyches" who rejected and thus humiliated him. Even for a relatively emotionally balanced person, humiliation is a horrific feeling. For an overly sensitive paranoid megalomaniac like Hubbard, it meant war. His real demon was his own horror of feeling unworthy and unwanted, but his deranged way of trying to overcome his demons was to wage holy war against the "psyches" who in his mind represented that horror. When the scenario essentially repeated in 1964 with the Saturday Evening Post interview article ridiculed him, and as happened earlier with the therapy community he anticipated that he had them eating out of his hand but instead was rejected, it was the same horror all over again, and a few months later he reacted with his manifesto "Keeping Scientology Working", damning anyone and everyone who even questioned his fancied and imposed singular rightness and superiority. And ever after, anyone who shined too much within his domain became a threat in his mind to the acceptance and worship of him, and was brutally thrown under the bus- Jack Hoerner, Alan Walter, John McMaster, David Mayo, et al.

I was listening to some old recordings uploaded to youtube by sub rosa. There's one title 'FULL" Xenu lecture which seemed new. Ron was absolutely foaming at the mouth, yelling at students who said they'd no more BTs or had gotten them all within days. Cringeworthy. Maybe this was the infamous Class 8 rant.

There probably are lots of categories of encapsulated soul or 'will' caught up inside stuck ideas. Some of the very first lectures on attention running/ locating 'ridges' back in 1952, kinda made sense. But by 54, in Phoenix, Ron had already gotten tied up in loops, trying to extrapolate more significance. Too bad things weren't kept simple. He'd basically shot his wad on the subject of identity and ridges and between lives. He was willing to experiment with everything on his galvanometer......and be proven wrong too. At one time.

Something ate him up.....devoured all his attention. And I think then he became it.

David Mayo had said it was too bad the Xenu story wasn't handled as part of somebody's engram. Maybe things would have turned out different for the rest of us.

Anybody who has incredulously gone ahead and still run the stuff on an e-meter, might have seen reads with this all meaning nothing to them personally. Ron should have let it go. If you are not in an identity that this impinges on, then it's not right for you. It was taking a chance to say all human life owned the impingement. It evokes craziness when you demand everybody take the same viewpoint as you. But, then, this was coming from the person who may have believed he sourced everybody. That right there, made him nuts, and a control freak.
