Amateur Journalist Requesting Interviews

I like your post a lot. But there is one thing that I can't get behind. . .

I am very familiar with Steve Hassan's work and the Moonie Cult, et al. I was a fan of his outstanding whistleblowing on cult phenomena. But in recent years he seemed to "jump the shark" and begin publishing
TDS materials and lectures. Pretty shocking that a master of cult indoctrination could himself fall victim to
the many distortions, propaganda and outright lies of the cult of Woke-ology.

But then, after some years......

Hassan sort of teamed up with another dude that I thought was doing a great job of exposing the COS (Cult of Scientology) online---Chris Shelton. The duo fed off each-other's very ridiculously biased and wacky gaslighting theories. That was the end of my curiosity about their body of work. Seemed to me that they lacked even the most basic 'anti-cult" defenses and 'critical thinking skills' that they were boasting about. Because they had blindly slipped into and/or been seduced by yet another cult. The cult of woke haters & bullshitters.

Very sorry to post what might be considered horrible (and "impossible") revelations about both of those dudes, who did some extremely great work before they were sucked into the gravitational field of the ATCCA ("Anti-Trump-Cliche-Chanting-Association"). They claim to have discovered the "mental illness" that half of America's voters suffer from that force them to do very harmful and irrational things, such as vote for candidates that they like.

Apologies in advance for this post, I would guess it will result in a KR, Non-Enturbulation Order and possibly a declare/disconnection notice in my mailbox if i don't 'cease & desist' and 'come to my senses', LOL.

It's just that---I hate when cult gurus' & experts can't demonstrate any of the the magical powers they are selling. Bummer!

[ none of the above affects my personal like for Steve & Chris. I am sure they are "very fine people". I believe even Trump stated that there are "very fine people on both sides" of his Nazi organization, lol ].

relaxxxxxxxx, it's a joke!

..

I met both of them and genuinely like both of them. I met Steve Hassan at an amazing three-day event in Boston hosted by Anonymous back in 2010 and met Chris briefly in Clearwater, I think at the Flag Down event. However, I probably don't agree with either of them so much on their preference for presidential candidates. :coolwink:

My theory is that one can truly be a cult expert but that doesn't give one immunity to having cognitive biases. I've seen brilliant people with scientific training fall victim to logical fallacies and cognitive biases. When someone does have a cognitive bias, commonly, they're blind to it.

I haven't read Hassan's book on Trump and I'm not going to criticize a book I haven't read. My issue with him is that he only looked for negative qualities within one political party and gave a pass to the other.

The whole concept of Entheta is not new and us in very common use today. All cults have their own buzzword for it.

Take the cults of woke and feminism for instance. Any disagreement or deviation from the narrative will get you labeled as racist, or bigoted or misogynistic, et al .

Same deal, but differing cults.

Keep up the dissention and you will be fair gamed by them as well. The levels vary according to the particular cult and how malignant they are..

Take a look at all the various groups out there and listen to what they say, but pay even closer attention to what they actually do, especially to those that may not agree with them or have fallen out of favour.

That will show you what the group's true colours really are.

If you would like a more in depth study on cults in general, i would recommend reading Steve Hassan's book, "combating cult mind control ".

Steve is a psychiatrist who was once quite high up in the Moonie cult.

Erin Pizzey, the lady who fouded the first domestic violence shelters in the UK, is also a victim of feminist persecution. Her book, "this way to the revolution " is her story about it all.
[/QUOTEgood?

You cis bigot fascist homophobe.

🤣🤣🤣

If anyone cares to "obnose" it the words and MO of "tricked and lied to" keep repeating.

The whole sham of Fair Game cancelation was a trick and a lie from Ron, the Master Sourcerer (sic).

The entire time I was a Scientologist in good standing I was Fair Gamed - tricked, lied to, denied property, blackmailed, extorted, threatened.

The whole concept of "honest beings have rights" is a trick and a lie...a Fair Game op on the marks/dupes.

When I discovered that is when I discovered that there's "Standard Tech" and "Double Standard Tech".

All I've ever witnessed and experienced is the Double Standard Tech.

Standard Tech is...you guessed it...a trick and a lie.

I would recommend starting one thread with all your questions.
Nothing on English literature, please. That category always stumps me on Jeopardy.

I must admit I haven't kept up with Chris and Steve for a while now and am somewhat unaware of what they are currently doing. Kind of a shame really.

I must admit that I am both surprised and perhaps not so surprised at the same time.

I think that, typically, there are three types of ex-cult members.

The first type are those who realise they had been sucked in and understand how they allowed themselves to be caught and are much more aware now. You would see them not getting caught again and avoid cults like the plague.

The second type haven't really learned from their experiences and tend to keep subsequently getting caught up in other cults. Their ability to recognise the signs is still somewhat diminished and they remain vulnerable. My opinion is that they have their thirst for answers for whatever they are looking for remaining unanswered and they tend to keep searching. This does lead them to being susceptible to going back down the rabbit holes again. Others just never learn and jump from one poor choice to another.

The third type is a bit like myself. We start off as the second type and after getting burned again, finally learn some lessons and we become the first type. There is also the danger of becoming overly cynical about everything, but hey, we're humans with all our flaws I guess.

There are more categories, but I see these as the main ones.

We have all three types on this forum all to varying levels. Somehow for the most part, we make it work here like a typical family scenario and that's all okay.

yes, exactly!

also....if someone in a cult can be convinced of something rather easily, then a very gentle breeze can blow them in a new direction and convince them of the opposite very easily. hence, cult shopping! LOL

What I've discovered is that cult "experts" put way too much emphasis on cult leaders or "founders".

I think ideological possession should be the focus. Many times any charismatic leader may not even be necessary.

Hubbard has been AWOL since the 60s.

Nobody joined Scientology because of him or Miscavige at least since then.

I have to admit the first time I saw a "HIP! HIP! HOORAY!" episode to one of Ron's pics it freaked me out and I should've took off running and never stopped. First of all, I never joined Scientology and had huge misgivings when I learned about it and a "church" and I certainly never joined anything because of Hubbard. Scientology, as far as I can see, is more successfully "sold" to people that have come in through the various front groups. I think that selling Scientology straight out of the gate is NOT a successful action. I think that following the Ron method of "trick and lie to" in regards to Scientology is 10x more effective and that's tricking and lying to marks/dupes with various front groups until they're "in" and then the Scientology flip.

Look at the Queer Woke Cult of Death and Hatred today. There isn't any leader. It's ideological possession...Marxism.

those 2 moments---I had similar gains cringes to your own.

unless my reactive mind had blanked it out, it is my belief that I never once
joined in on the ritualistic chanting of Hyp-Hyp-Hooray (which should have been
Hyp-Hyp-Hypocrisy!)

the first time a friend of mind enthusiastically called Scientology "MY RELIGION"
it was as if i was in a science fiction movie and the earth stopped spinning on its
axis and----everything on the planet FROZE IN PLACE. But i could walk around
and look at each of the jubilant expressions on the Scientologists' faces as they
clapped for the "MY RELIGION" win of my friend. That freaked me the F*** out!

Internally i was screaming to myself on BOTH of those events (above):

W T F IS GOING ON ???!!!!!!!

The answer to that question came to me some time later.

The answer was: NOTHING

Nothing is going on in Scientology. It's a fraud. A hoax.

Scientology is just like TR-0. Everyone is just sitting there doing nothing.

But in spite of the fact that NOTHING is happening, some folks had
euphorically huge wins on calling Scientology "MY RELIGION"

The first time I heard that lunacy, I started looking for the EJECT LEVER
in that DC-8. Found it eventually and ...that....has...made...all...the...difference.*

is this a bad time to mention im queer
Absolutely not!
Bear in mind, what we are talking about is the radical ideological cult itself and its twisted doctrine.

Not the everyday individual that is just getting on with life. I doubt there are many people here who would judge you for what you are, just what things you may be doing that would harm others.

We have other gay people on this forum as well, so you're in good company.

seriously asking? If so, i don't think there's anyone on this message board
or within 2 trillion light years of any ex-scientology website that would even
pause a nanosecond on your mention. if y'all beez happy, i beez happy! LOL

Yeah, I was never comfortable with the "religion " aspect.
I always regarded it as a philosophy and the glassy eyed devotee was always kind of disconcerting to me.

just seemed good to ask considering the last few responses have seemed very pointed - im a lot of things that you'd consider "woke"
Shouldn't be an issue unless you're pushing a cult.

Think of it this way - BLM has zero to do with being black and everything to do with a cult agenda.

i absolutely do not think of blm that way but sure 🐇❗

That was, probably, my first chasm of cognitive dissonance that I had to cross.

In the end, though, I truly believed that my personal salvation was dependent upon "the Tech" and that the ONLY way to it was via Scientology.

PS In writing this I mistyped "salvation" as "slavation" - was that a Freudian slip?
