Anyway, the Fair Game policy was officially renounced not long ago after it became too well known publicly and cast a shadow over the Church. Unofficially though, it still exists.

If I could make a minor correction, “Fair Game” was never really cancelled. If you carefully parse the wording of the policy that allegedly cancelled it:

You will notice that it is only forbids the use of the WORDS “fair game”, and that because of PR concerns, and specifically does NOT cancel what can be DONE to someone labeled a Suppressive Person.

I will add though that most Scientologists would never do such things. Many do hold onto general moral values. It's just when they rise above a certain level that their logic begins to twist and black and white morals rules turn to gray or even flips around to reverse.

I will add that, although most Scientologists would never do bad things, I doubt that many would PUBLICLY AND OPENLY DENOUNCE those who did bad things for the benefit of Scientology.

Most people are sheep, psychologically, and when presented with evidence of bad things being done by someone they align with, will either try to deny the truth of the assertions, or mentally justify them as being “for the greater good”.

Based on my research aside from what @Enthetan said, Fair Game is still operating - I believe some of the ways it's dished out has been changed. It's never been fully dismantled.

You are correct. Fair Game mandates that the cult "LIE & TRICK" others for it's own benefit. Those two words are verbatim.

Ergo, when asked IF they still practice Fair Game, they LIE about it in order to TRICK you. Cool gimmick, right? LOL

The only thing about Fair Game that has changed is that they have been polishing the parts of it that are not very shiny. To do this they add layer upon layer of gold-toned electroplating in the form of their many SOCIAL PROGRAMS (e.g. "Volunteer Ministers", "Applied Scholastics", "Narconon", "Citizens Commission On Human Rights", et al, ad infinitum)

That would be correct. They had to make certain statements I guess to avoid being labelled undesirable things, like a terrorist group for instance, which could also result in the authorities paying much closer attention to them.

As an old work colleague from Mongolia once said to me about the collapse of Soviet Communism in the early 90s, It's still a Communist State only the name has now changed. The only thing that has changed in the church is its official and public stance, not what it does.

As Enthetan said, it's all in the tricky wording.

Over the years, Scientology has become more sensitive to PR, in that they want any acts done against “suppressives” to not be provably traceable back to Scientology, hence the levels of cut-outs (lawyer to PI to street thug)

Since I've had the pleasure of this thread gaining some traction and have now had an odd experience related to it, here's another addition:

1) While I understand the concerns people have about OSA, I will NOT be giving out private information about myself just as I do NOT expect interviewees to do. This is for a college essay. I am a mutli-disabled college student.

2) Anyone who wants to share privately is welcome to start a private conversation with me, otherwise I will be taking advice and figuring out how to go about publishing my questions on here.

I will not ever ask you for personal details outside of your experiences and I please ask that you give me the same treatment. I will not respond to people asking for my private information.

Take the cults of woke and feminism for instance. Any disagreement or deviation from the narrative will get you labeled as racist, or bigoted or misogynistic, et al .

Same deal, but differing cults.

Keep up the dissention and you will be fair gamed by them as well. The levels vary according to the particular cult and how malignant they are..

Take a look at all the various groups out there and listen to what they say, but pay even closer attention to what they actually do, especially to those that may not agree with them or have fallen out of favour.

That will show you what the group's true colours really are.

If you would like a more in depth study on cults in general, i would recommend reading Steve Hassan's book, "combating cult mind control ".

Steve is a psychiatrist who was once quite high up in the Moonie cult.

Erin Pizzey, the lady who founded the first domestic violence shelters in the UK, is also a victim of feminist persecution. Her book, "this way to the revolution " is her story about it all.

I like your post a lot. But there is one thing that I can't get behind. . .

I am very familiar with Steve Hassan's work and the Moonie Cult, et al. I was a fan of his outstanding whistleblowing on cult phenomena. But in recent years he seemed to "jump the shark" and begin publishing
TDS materials and lectures. Pretty shocking that a master of cult indoctrination could himself fall victim to
the many distortions, propaganda and outright lies of the cult of Woke-ology.

But then, after some time passed......

Hassan sort of teamed up with another dude that I thought was doing a great job of exposing the COS (Cult of Scientology) online---Chris Shelton. The duo fed off each-other's very ridiculously biased and wacky gaslighting theories. That was the end of my curiosity about their body of work. Seemed to me that they lacked even the most basic 'anti-cult" defenses and 'critical thinking skills' that they were boasting about. Because they had blindly slipped into and/or been seduced by yet another cult. The cult of woke haters & bullshitters.

Very sorry to post what might be considered horrible (and "impossible") revelations about both of those dudes, who did some extremely great work before they were sucked into the gravitational field of the ATCCA ("Anti-Trump-Cliche-Chanting-Association"). They claim to have discovered the "mental illness" that half of America's voters suffer from that force them to do very harmful and irrational things, such as vote for candidates that they like.

Apologies in advance for this post, I would guess it will result in a KR, Non-Enturbulation Order and possibly a declare/disconnection notice in my mailbox if i don't 'cease & desist' and 'come to my senses', LOL.

It's just that---I hate when cult gurus' & experts can't demonstrate any of the the magical powers they are selling. Bummer!

i dont really know what half of this conversation is about but that is part of my problem with some COS researchers - the complete neglect around victims and the blatant belief that because they're researching it means they're immune. i've heard stories from friends in a fandom that they researched COS and at first were very against it, but during massive depressive episodes almost ended up joining. ive personally gotten into arguments with people because they spread a lie about COS and as much as i hate it id rather people hate it for the truth than perpetuate lies that will make it way harder for victims to come forward or live their lives.
