Hubbard became an "implanter" in September 1963.

We don't know what Diana thinks today.

Prefer to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I don't know either. But having grown up around Hubbard and in the Sea Org her whole life, I would imagine she doesn't think that much about anything. I would assume her cognitive powers are mainly dedicated not to thinking–but instead to duplicating.

And i would also assume that she is terrified of being fair gamed if she ever left. She would know what kind of savagery the cult is capable of.

However, I wish her the best and hope she tunnels out at some point and tastes freedom.

It would be cool if there were CROWDFUNDING websites that offered hopelessly trapped Sea Org members a "Witness Protection Program" where they can escape, tell what they know and have a safe place to live with a new ID.

If she decides to leave the Aftermath Foundation would help her.

Where is Suzette Hubbard these days? Is she out or just not currently on lines but still in good standing (so long as she keeps her mouth shut)?

thanks for sharing that. i think it's relatively common -- a quick check of the literature suggests that maybe at least a quarter of men experience same sex thoughts.

and in a scientology style belief in a theory of past lives, then couldn't it be seen as just something coming up from a time when you were in a body of the other different sex, and so those would have been heterosexual thoughts? i don't see why scientology has ended up so hung up and repressive about such things, except that especially as 'source' got older (and, i suspect, became impotent) he imposed the prudery of his late Victorian upbringing (which also fit with postwar sexual conservatism) on his followers....

p.s. my experience, which fits with a lot of research, is that sexuality exists on a spectrum and many people naturally tend towards some degree of bisexuality, but that's not the subject here so i'm trying to keep it to what relates directly to the theory and practice of LRH and the CofS.

Anyone trained and/or auditing usually will tell you that past life homosexuality was/is common and recall happened to virtually every PC I encountered.

It's a valence thing in Scientology or something...a false purpose...aberration...an ethics sit just long enough for tech to bight. That's it.

As far as "ethics" becoming suffocating and more and more Draconian I have a theory about that. (Note: when I say "theory" I mean the lay definition so it's actually a hypothesis.)

It goes like this:

Scientology can only work when ethics are in - per Scientology. Therefore, to explain why Scientology doesn't work the only "answer" is because "ethics" are out. The solution then becomes a simple recipe of increasing ethics.

Since Scientology doesn't work and fails as a matter of routine the natural evolution of the whole endeavor is ever-increasing increments of "ethics".

It's not just sex. It's everything...bowling...open laughter...jokes...beer...

thanks for sharing that bit about homosexuality showing up in auditing. i would say that's an indication that it's normal for people to have at least some degree of same sex attraction, even though it often gets repressed because of the social environment. but its still minor and not acted on by the majority of people, even those who can let themselves be honestly conscious about, which is normal in its own way, too.

i would agree that is at work as well. as with many things, i tend to think there are often multiple factors and/or motivations at work. i think you are right that Hubbard and scientology were in need of an answer to their failures and that was one that was a perfect fit, but i also think Hubbard was becoming more represessive, and authoritarian or totalitarian, for other reasons as well.

The counter argument - that might be made by a past life therapist - is, even if the person is simply imagining, he's still consulting some portion of his subconscious mind.
in metaphysics, most believe they are accessing akashic records. was reading this thread on my phone, then trying to find it on the laptop was quite the challenge. not sure how it came to be in "events"! somebody has a very literal mind haha.

From Barbara Kaye, his then lover -- re: Wichita mid-1951 -- states he was pretty bad off:

"I was shocked by his appearance in Wichita. He had visibly deteriorated, both physically and emotionally. He was extremely unkempt, he lived like a street person. He was extremely depressed, talked in a monotone, always on the verge of tears.. . ."When he went off with Alexis he came by the mansion at Hoover. I was there working and he was in a depression. I could see the way he walked - his head down, dragging his feet."
However, by some miracle of research, or vivid imagination, he'd figured out the secrets of the universe during the next year and . .
Nah, it wasn't a miracle. In mid-1951, a 20 year old college student named Mary Sue wandered in and quickly began an affair with Ron, soon becoming pregnant with Diana and marrying Ron in Feb 1952.

A young woman can do WONDERS at picking up the spirits of a middle-aged man.

Well, the event was Hubbard becoming - in a big way - the "implanter."

1965, rather than 1963, seems to have been the date for that.
