The Danny Masterson Trial thread

I wonder what JOHN TRAVOLTA would have to say about Julian Swartz's obstruction of justice for rape victims or how Scientology used Fair Game terrorism to attack them for seeking help from law enforcement?
He will say whatever his OSA handlers tell him to say, if he doesn't want the juicy pieces from his various folders made public.

Ok, now I realized why scientolocy CANNOT flood the court with scientology witnesses making all sorts of claims about the alleged victims sex lives, previous drug/alcohol abuse etc.

That would fly in almost any other type of trial. But for rape victims in specific California law prohibits them being asked about their previous sexual encounters, what they wore, what is their lifestyle etc.

Scientology likes to attach themselves to the #meetoo bandwagon and with false bs about Mike Rinder etc... So there's some good poetic justice seeing how the meetoo came back to bite Co$ in the ass in this court case.

But it isn't me too. It's a coverup of criminal activity predicated on the erroneous, and absurd belief the victim pulled it in.

I'm wondering whether anything at all was done. I believe it possible that such a celeb in this group might have special exemption due to his " value. "

I've posted this before, but one thing that struck me is that Masterson is only Clear. I think one of the reasons why he's never done the OT levels is because the church is aware that he has this history. In their weird way this is them applying ethics/justice to him, of course it's nothing like real justice, but I can see Scientology saying well we won't let him do the OT levels and patting themselves on the back.

Personally I think he has been interrogated and his history is well known within the church. Because of his celeb status they will protect him and he won't face real consequences, but they still wouldn't let him do the OT levels. That's my take on things.

I was out of town for a few days, so I'm getting caught up on things. My take is that so far is that this is not going the defenses way, I don't think Cohen is doing a bad job or a bad attorney, he just doesn't have much to work with.

I guess his questions are setting things up so that he can show inconsistencies between what's being said now and what was reported to the police previously? Maybe 10 years ago that would carry more weight, I think these days jury members would be much more willing to chalk it up to police getting something wrong. Also most of the points he's argued are minor details, and the Scientology angle makes it very plausible that they wouldn't report things right away and that they would not report details to the police.

Obviously there is still a lot of trial left, and there really isn't any evidence, it's all testimony, but the defense better have an ace up their sleeve. I think the witness corroborating the bruises and the KR that was admitted as evidence go a long way towards proving the prosecutions case.

Scientology has come off looking terrible so far, and I think it will only get worse for them.

Thanks for posting that.

That's an exceptional nightly news broadcast. It's worth watching again! LOL

It features David Miscavige right at the top of the SCIENTOLOGY RAPE SCANDAL story. He is shown in video footage and later in various photographs.

He is firmly positioned as someone who is guilty in some way of the rape or empowering the rapist or obstructing justice for the rape victim. I know he's not under criminal indictment, but the report put a wooden stake thru the heart of the "religious" PR image that COB has fanatically tried to cultivate and curate since 1986.

If nothing else, the mere existence of such a news report is proof positive that Scientology and OTs do not have any supernatural powers, or that report would never have aired in the first place.

Poor little Miscavige, the world of fantasy is caving in on him daily. All he has got left is money in banks and the empty applause of credulous fools who attend his speeches and give standing ovations for the privilege of being defrauded.

SCIENTOLOGY KOAN: What happens if an OT VIII turns on the nightly news and sees that their "religion" obstructs justice to protect serial rapists and their leader spends many tens of millions of dollars of their donation money to try to cover it up?

Seems so. I think the fact that this trial is taking place in California where "previous actions" of the alleged victim cannot be brought to a rape case has gutted the usual scn strategy of providing dozens of false witnesses.

The only witnesses they can bring is people confirmed to have been around the event under discussion. No sort of: "Yeah she was a floozie, I slept with her a dozen times, she slept with everyone left and right" kind of testimony is even allowed under the current California law.

Agreed. It seems Cohen's best chance is to try to turn it into a pure "he-said-she-said" thing and hope that at least one of the jurors will decide that this is insufficient to consider the defendant guilty beyond all reasonable doubt.

Friend of woman accusing Danny Masterson of rape tells trial she quietly RECANTED her story, telling him 'it never happened' - though she contends the statement was to 'protect' him from trouble if the actor retaliated against her

  • The second week of actor Danny Masterson's rape trial began on Monday in a Los Angeles court
  • Witness Shaun Fabos, friend of accuser Jane Doe 1, told the court that after the alleged rape in April 2003 she told him over the phone: 'It never happened'
  • Jane Doe 1 later told Fabos that the statement claiming 'it never happened' was only made to protect him from trouble in case he retaliated against Masterson
  • The court also heard from Jane Doe 3, a successful model that lived with Masterson for six years and was barely 18 when they met in 1996
  • Jane Doe 3 told the court the actor would urinate on her, call her 'white trash' and regularly force her to have sex against her will
  • Masterson has pleaded not guilty to raping three women at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003
  • He is facing a sentence of 45 years to life in prison if found guilty

it seems to me he's a born-in slacker who probably isn't interested in the commitment and effort it would take to do the OT levels. i'm guessing that in a family like his, going 'clear' is probably like going through confirmation as a youth in a christian church, going through the motions whether you turn out to be dedicated to the faith or not.

i don't get the impression he ever really did much like promoting scn even before he got in trouble, and was become well known in That '70s Show when he would have been an influencer for young people. like a lot of the born in celebs i really wonder if he cares about scn at all except to keep up his relationship with his family, particularly an egotistic sociopathic type like him. also, isn't there no sign his wife has gotten involved at all, which i think is another tell that it's of no real significance to him?

He used his status as a benefit in the choich it appears, and did very little promo for them. But they loved saying Danny is a Scn!!!!
