At this time, in order to create a convincing video quality "duplicate" of a known celebrity, there are stages of
"learning" that AI has to perform. It begins with such basics as FILMING THE SUBJECT FROM MANY ANGLES AND COUNTLESS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS. In some cases if there is enough video/film footage of that which already exists, they might save a ton of hours and costs on that particular stage.
The "Tom Cruise" fake fidelity was sort of a down-and-dirty Temu version. Even 4-5 years ago the deepfake tech had already
advanced to an impressively high level.
