The Danny Masterson Trial thread

Well.....the Jury is now deliberating.... Closing Arguments are done.

The Judge told Danny Masterson that he had to remain inside the Courthouse ...which I found interesting.

I don't really want to give examples here.....but, It is my opinion that "Scientology" is kinda in the "match making" biz to some extent.

I think there are some SO that would figure to match their public up.....for marriage.
A Scientologist who is married to another Scientologist is seen as less likely to leave Scientology, if it would blow up his marriage.

A Scientologist involved with a non-Scientologist is more likely to leave.

The issue there is that Danny is equated to the choich, and the thought is he has done nothing wrong. Because scn does nothing wrong. He is being attacked by esspees. All attacks on the choich are false, therefore all attacks on Danny are false.
He thought that he had "ethics protection", and was a "Kha-Khan" due to his being a valuable celebrity.

He thought he could abuse people who were "beneath" him, like Miscavige does to Sea Org members. Perhaps he had been spending time with Miscavige and some of the attitude had rubbed off.

The Danny Masterson Case, ‘The O.J. Trial of Scientology,’ Stirs Deep Feelings for Former Members

Tara Savelo was born into Scientology and remained active in it into her 20s. She grew up in Clearwater, Fla., one of the church’s main outposts, and later moved to Los Angeles, where she became Lady Gaga’s makeup artist.
She drifted away from the church as she built her own life. But over the last few weeks, as she has read about the Danny Masterson rape trial, many of the church’s teachings and practices have come back to the surface.
“The verbiage the victims use – the first time I read it, it was so upsetting,” she said. “There are specific words and descriptors they’ve used that are ingrained in my DNA. It makes my stomach turn.”

Danny Masterson Opts Not to Testify in Rape Trial

For a lot of former Scientologists, the Masterson trial has been a subject of intense fascination. It combines celebrity, sex and justice, and it is set within a society that they know intimately.
“This is the O.J. trial of Scientology,” said Karen de la Carriere, an ex-Scientologist who now calls herself a “cult whistleblower.” “It’s huge.” Masterson’s lawyer, Philip Cohen, has sought to minimize references to the church during the trial. But in his closing argument, he noted the church had nevertheless been mentioned more than 700 times.

Karin Pouw, a spokeswoman for the church, blasted Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller for “shamefully centering his prosecution on the defendant’s religion.” But Mueller argued in his closing that the church had exerted a powerful influence over the victims’ beliefs and actions.

“Scientology cannot be avoided,” he argued.

Scientology was invoked in two ways. The first is the church’s attitude toward rape and gender dynamics. The second is the church’s approach to the justice system.

The three accusers – all now ex-Scientologists – all described a belief system that discouraged them from classifying their assaults as “rape.” Christina B., who was in a six-year relationship with Masterson, said she went to the church to report him for rape in December 2001. A Scientology ethics officer told her that “You cannot rape someone you’re in a relationship with,” she testified.

She also testified that a chaplain told her that “I was not fulfilling my duties” as Masterson’s girlfriend. She said the message she received was: “Basically, if I didn’t say no, it wouldn’t happen.”

She and Jane Doe #1 also described a broader teaching in which negative experiences are understood to be the responsibility of the person experiencing them. In the case of rape, that amounted to telling them they had invited the assaults, or “pulled it in,” they testified.

Those descriptions resonated with Tara Savelo.

Its always my pleasure to hook up SCN CULT victims with reporters.:)
In the essay above here's another girl who was raped who was ordered to do amends to the rapist.
The amends was bringing him into the cult brick and mortar building to watch a video so he could be money extorted for $$$$$

It's extremely hard for Scientologists to find the ideal 2D terminal!

Scientologist with wog 2D - BAD

Scientologist with mental health care professional 2D (i.e. "psych") - BAD

Scientologist with Ex-Scientologist 2D - BAD

Scientologist with Scientologist 2D not currently on the Bridge - BAD

Scientologist with Scientologist on the Bridge 2D, but too downstat to buy Bridge & donate - BAD

Scientologist staff member with Scientologist not on staff 2D - BAD

Scientologist staff member with Sea Org member 2D - BAD

Scientologist sea org member with upper level management Sea Org member 2D - BAD

Ultra elite Scientologist (above upper level management Sea Org members) with NO 2D because their former 2Ds are
severely out-ethics and have been banished, exiled & disconnected - GOOD! (e.g. L. Ron Hubbard, Miscavige, Tom Cruise, et al)

A good comprehensive list there..... but you did leave out some, an important one....like mine.

Illegal PC Scientologist ( family connected to Intelligence Service. ) Starts a marriage 2D with another Scientologist.....BAD

This makes the other public an illegal PC......makes her entire family illegal PCs and PTS. Makes any children they may have PTS and illegal Public.....

None can now get auditing unless they Petition to Justice IC Int......

None can join the Sea Org....

:)

I never knew Tara but when on Boston Org staff in the 80s Ron Savelo was a staff member there. I imagine that they are related somehow, maybe he is the father?

His wife (the one he had in 1979), Michelle, recruited me for Boston staff.

I've seen this exact same thing...almost verbatim...except that the "Intelligence Service" to make them illegal and out-Qual was...get this...a retired official who one time during employment had top secret security clearance...something this person no longer held once retired. This was a family member retired from the military who had had a top secret security clearance.

Result? EVERYONE ILLEGAL...because of the government employment. Petitions for everything. It wasn't even the PC...it was a family member...it wasn't even present time.

Then...Scientology turns right around and at the highest level possible hires Meade Emory to structure the Int corporate structure. The #2 IRS guy during the "hot" years of Mary Sue prosecution is employed to set up Scientology's restructuring AFTER the IRS raid.

That's legal.

Excellent addition to the list!

Your post reveals that there may be many as-yet unidentified "BAD" 2Ds that are forbidden in Scientology!

Oh, I just thought of another one. When an ethics investigation uncovers that a Scientologist onlines is married to someone who works for the government! - BAD!

They would be ordered to get a divorce from that obvious governmental spy, plant and/or saboteur--even though they have been married to that person for 40 years.

One must always disconnect from PTS terminals!

Yes, that's true. Even if the 2D is connected to someone in the intelligence community or a psychiatrist,
if they have the means to pay for their bridge or they're a celebrity there will be great urgency from CoS to get their petition approved.

LOL! You are correct, sir!

That is senior policy, based upon the standard definition:

Scientology celebrity -noun: Anyone whose bank account
balance equals or exceeds their tech estimate.

I'd like to see him to hard time in a real prison, but if you've ever served on a jury you know there's something wonky about humanoids in groups. Every single one of those 12 people are probably hella nice and reasonable and just "good people" but.... you get people together in situations like that and shit usually gets weird eventually.

(
Comm Ev's anyone?) :hysterical:

I'm just saying, temper your expectations on his punishment. I suspect it'll be light, My opinion and I hope I'm wrong.

..

i wonder how many current members, especially on the fence, are having disturbing feelings about this case....

It's a fascinating question in multiple respects.

First, what percentage of current members actually even KNOW about the case? The "knowing how to know" people are instructed to NOT KNOW about Scientology's inner secrets and "entheta", so they avoid it--lest they be sent to ethics, sec checking, et al.

Then, there are the ones that heard about the case but quickly conclude that Scientology is being "attacked" by SPs. It would be a "crime" or "high crime" or even a "thought crime" to be receiving, relaying or even wondering if a "senior Scientologist" and "super-upstat celebrity" is a serial rapist. That invalidates the states of Clear and OT and sabotages Ron's dream of a world without criminality. However, if the COS issues a written Declare on Masterson, then it would be a crime/high crime to NOT invalidate Masterson the SP who was pretending to be an OT!

Add to this Dystopian mix the fact that Scientologist are indoctrinated to NOT talk to each other about "sensitive" or "confidential" or "off source" matters--for fear of being ratted out in a KR (Knowledge Ratform, lol).

However, as you pointed out, what about the ones "on the fence"?

The only defense Scn management has for the fence-sitters blowing is to rapidly compile a DEAD AGENT PACK that attacks the enemy. The problem for the cult, however, is that they don't know yet who the enemy is. Is it Masterson? Is it the rape victims? Is it the media? Is it psychs and big pharma conspiring to steal Scientology's 16M paying customers? LOL

No verdict today.

I reject that answer.

I have the same view as a character from a J.D. Salinger novel.

"He knew the truth...but he was looking for something better" LOL
