Scientology is about to complete its annual time-travel trick regarding one of the holiest days on its calendar: New Year’s Eve.

What we mean by that is the way that Scientology leader David Miscavige puts on a New Year’s Eve party at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in the middle of December, and pretends to welcome in the new year at midnight. It’s all filmed, a slick video is produced, and then it is shown at all of Scientology’s “orgs” around the world on December 31.

So if you are a Scientologist in London or Johannesburg or Phoenix, you are encouraged to head down to your local org to celebrate the New Year while watching David Miscavige pretending to be hosting a live party in LA.

It’s odd, but that’s the way Scientology does it. So now the big task ahead of them is to get members to actually show up for the local celebrations on Wednesday night, knowing that they will almost certainly get hit up for donations.

I just caught that- "Come celebrate the best religion on earth". They might not want that statement to reach the general public. Maybe they could go with "Be part of the only group that knows how wrong everybody else is about everything".
