There was no doubt that the pandemic was hard on Scientology’s aging cruise ship, the Freewinds, which spent months going nowhere during the lockdowns.
And we have wondered about the seaworthiness of this expensive floating cathedral where Scientologists must go if they want to achieve OT 8, the highest step on Scientology’s “Bridge to Total Freedom.” How many more years can this old barge continue to ply the Caribbean?
Well, a new flier put out by Scientology suggests that the Freewinds is gamely sailing on into the future, and that it has pretty much returned to its old ways.
Of course, not enough wealthy Scientologists seeking OT 8 can justify keeping the ship going, so they open it up to lesser beings who still want the experience of cruising with some Hubbard technology thrown in. This “Public Relations Convention” is a perfect example of that. After all, who knows PR better than the Church of Scientology, right?
