To be fair, I reckon Peter did step out of line.
He would have, pre interview, been told not to ask those questions among others and he got taken to task for it.
Obviously, he was pushing for a reaction and TC probably didn't want to let slip to the public that those questions were verboten to ask.
I realise he was trying to slip some under the belt in the hope of getting another reaction, but it backfired.
Peter grew up more or less next door to Nicole Kidman as kids and they were quite good friends growing up. That might have also put TC a little on edge, as I'm pretty sure he would have known that too.
I'm not a fan of TC the man, but I gotta call what I see, regardless of what I think of him.

I find it hard to believe that Tom hasn't heard something of the truth behind the glittering facade he's exposed to when he visits the Celebrity Center (American spelling), even if he has had benefits from the Tech (and he must have done or he wouldn't have stayed the course with the Bridge). Does he think it's all bad PR designed to throw people off pursuing their spiritual freedom?
Also if as I believe he's an OT 8 completion and has been for some time, what does he do casewise from now on? Where's the rest of the Bridge? Has he asked himself that question at all?

He's indoctrinated in the mindset that being vicious and intimidating to the people around him is "the way to be" and exemplary of his "superior state of being"; to put the mental and emotional effort into constantly maintaining that facade is to maintain a heightened level of anxiety that belies all the word salads of what Scientology claims and pretends to be about. Having so thoroughly invested himself, unless and until he somehow hits a breaking point, there's nothing left to him but to soldier on with his denial of himself at the expense of others, and to try to find solace and satisfaction in the realms of his ostensible talent, success and adulation.
First comment.
When you are indoctrinated as we all were at the time, you are generally taking all negative comments as something to rebut and fight back against, because, well. you know, you know it better than they do. TC is very much in this mindset and as an elite within the cult, his conditioning is much more robust and enthusiastic within those circles.
Second comment.
I'm sure the cult manages to continue to find an endless array of things that need to be addressed in Auditing or by donating sums of money.
There's always that thing where everything is your fault that you did not completely release all withholds/overts, etc in your previous sessions. If you did, then they would come up with some more somehow.
It's always your fault because the cult won't fix it for free.

It isn't possible for you to know whether or not Tom Cruise has, in fact, successfully achieved the confidential EP of OT VIII.
Truth Revealed is a marketing name for the level, not the confidential End Phenomena of it.
There is a huge clue to what that EP might be contained in the Confidential HCO Bulletin dated 1 Oct 1969 Titled Secret - WHY THETANS MOCK UP

As long as there's money to be made, the landings and side doors with the staircase will never end....

I think Sneakster's got a point here to be honest - none of us really know what's going on with Tom and it probably isn't our business to know.
I've got nothing against him personally and by all accounts he's kind and supportive towards young actors whom he has to work with. My only problem with him is the way he's used as marketing bait by the organisation, so that they can turn round and say; "Look, Tom Cruise is in Scn and he's thriving in life, join us and you can be thriving too".

from my perspective, scn is trying to make people perfect -- which is impossible. so then there's always something that needs to be addressed/fixed.
and as i see it that goes back to AD 1, and the failed promises of 'clear', etc. from then on the old man was always trying to add stuff to fix the failures to achieve the basic -- and impossible -- promises he had made.

I wouldn't know about confidential EPs, but isn't the EP of NOTS supposed to be "total cause over mass, energy, space and time" (whatever that means)?
The key point here is perfection, but in whose eyes?
LRH was about as far from perfection as it could be, so it would seem perfect imperfection would be the goal.
Also, having extreme wealth and being willing to spend it all on Scientology is also a trait for becoming a perfect person in their eyes.
Wasn't the world's most perfect person Guru Maharaji? I remember going to a gathering in Auckland back in the 70s and watching a movie with him as the star. I noticed how many of the followers of him were watching with glassy eyes and goofy smiles looking around at everyone else there which kind of spooked me and thinking these people a a bit weird for me and hightailed it.
Wasn't long after that I got hooked up with Scientology. Go figure. They didn't have those glassy eyes and goofy smiles. Turns out, they had other tells that I never picked up on. I'll blame the ignorance of youth on that one. I do know a little better now.
Intriguing, isn't it? Spends time with his adopted son and none with his biological daughter.
Wouldn't be seeing him either if he turned his back to the cult.
Tom Cruise is stuck in playing the role of Tom Cruise imo.
If you watch the 60 Minute vid. carefully, you see it's all a facade and TC takes mental breaks when the 'script" isn't being followed. I forget where I saw some guy break this down but it's out there somewhere in the interwebs.
Like Hubbard playing the Mankind's Best Friend and DM playing cold hard steel ethics presence, it's just the pretence of a narcissist playing to his audience.
I've seldom seen anyone in the upper echelons of the kult be a real human being and react like a normal person does because they are under constant pressure to BE OT. I've done it myself. It's fucking exhausting, mentally and emotionally.
I think the best clue is:
Does the person actually have friends? Real friends? Who they share their lives and losses and loves with?
Or are they "above" all that?
