The coming showdown between Scientology and local government in East Grinstead, England is really getting entertaining.
Thanks to the hard work of former London staffer Alex Barnes-Ross — who has held protests at Scientology’s IAS event the last two years — the Mid Sussex District Council became aware that the church was not submitting required requests for permission to erect a giant tent at their UK headquarters, Saint Hill Manor, where they hold the three-day convention that celebrates Scientology’s most wealthy donors.
Scientology responded by saying the tent was such an annual fixture, it should be grandfathered in like it was a permanent structure, but the council didn’t go for that excuse.
And with the IAS normally held in October, this year’s shindig is rapidly approaching and Scientology still hasn’t applied for the proper permission.
Alex has been reporting that this hasn’t stopped the church from beginning to erect the tent (which is a huge job and takes weeks), and in a video a Sea Org member asked Scientologists to set aside the entire month of October for the event, which still doesn’t have a date.
And now Alex has forwarded to us the very fun next escalation by Scientology: A Jive Aces music video!
