We have a tale of two cities for you today. Or, two Scientologists at two of Scientology’s most important cities.
On the one hand, there’s Catherine, who is rocketing up the OT (“Operating Thetan”) levels at Saint Hill Manor in East Grinstead, England, formerly home to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard in the early 1960s.
And then there’s another very dedicated Scientologist in Clearwater, Florida, whose name we’re holding back for now.
Taken together, we thought they made for an interesting counterpoint for how, even today with all of the publicity about what actual goes on in Scientology and the many testimonials from former members, this fascinating cabal still continues to attract people ready to turn their lives upside down for Hubbard’s “technology” of the mind and the organization he left behind.
First, let’s take a look at Catherine’s account of her journey to OT. Keep in mind, it’s her duty as a Scientologist to provide a “success story” that will convince others to write their own checks for these very expensive auditing levels, costing tens of thousands of dollars each, and adding up to hundreds of thousands of dollars overall.
But she has to remain vague about them and can’t detail what they’re about. That’s only for the paying customers, and certainly not for the outside world. It’s fun to see how she hints at what’s really going on.
That at OT 2, you learn that you have been suffering from hidden mental booby-traps put in place trillions of years ago by evil psychiatrists from other planets. That at OT 3, you learn that you are not one being, but a collection of invisible “body thetans” that have their own histories and hang-ups, and it’s your job to locate them and drive them away. That at OT 4, you find out that there are still many more body thetans clinging to you, and they need serious drug rehab after ingesting intergalactic illicit drugs that Earth pharma hasn’t even conceived of. And on OT 5, Catherine would have learned that there are even more body thetans attached to her, but they have been asleep and it was her task to wake them up and drive them off.
