[Where’s the love for Ron?]
One of our favorite things that Mike Rinder did at his blog was to hammer Scientology over its obsession with “10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs.”
Here’s how Mike described it in 2022…
Well, eventually in May 2024, Scientology did claim that it reached its goal, and 10,000 people have at least begun, if not finished, Solo NOTs. So what did they do when this exploit did not, in fact, result in any global pyrotechnics? Why, they simply moved the goalposts, of course!
Now, it’s 25,000 “Onto or Through Solo NOTs” that is the goal. And how is that going?

One of our favorite things that Mike Rinder did at his blog was to hammer Scientology over its obsession with “10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs.”
Here’s how Mike described it in 2022…
We always enjoyed it when Mike would repeatedly bring this up, that Scientology expected some earth-shaking result if 10,000 Scientologists had started on Solo NOTs. (Solo NOTs = “New Era Dianetics for Operating Thetans,” the auditing levels at OT 6 and OT 7 which are done at home, alone — “solo” — and without a separate auditor). And they were struggling so much to get there anyway. For 20 years, they have been pushing the Sisyphean task of getting “10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs.” It’s all based on this LRH quote cited at the top of an issue first published in April 2002:
“…At any one time on Earth there were not more than 10,000 people of a caliber that was sufficient to do a little steering or leading…There’s only about 10,000 of them, really.” — LRH, Tape of 18 December 1952, How to Talk to Friends about Scientology.
Based on this sliver of dubious information supported by not a single fact, the big “10,000 game” began. Way back in 2002 Solo NOTs had been around for 15 years or so, and they had not cracked the halfway mark. By 2014 they had plodded along to 6433. To this day, they have STILL not made the target.
