Scientology Patron Meritorious and Republican political commentator Joy Villa, who recently had an exploratory committee for a Congressional run

Regarding Joy Villa's testimony before the House Judiciary Committee today, I found the official title of the hearing. It is:

"Hearing: Diversity in America: The Representation of People of Color in the Media."

Here is the official Committee page for the hearing:

Update: Joy Villa now says that she is going to testify on diversity in America before the full House Committee on the Judiciary.

The hearing should be available at the link below.

ETA: Villa's testimony starts at 36:57.

Another quick observation about Joy Villa's testimony today before the House Judiciary Committee. I didn't watch the entire hearing; I pretty much quit after Villa testified and only scanned a bit thereafter. However, from what I saw it appeared that everyone else testified from a remote location. It may be the case that only Villa testified before the Committee in the U.S. Capitol Building. That was not an accident. That was politically smart. She got her photos of her testifying before the Committee. She got her YouTube video.

My prediction is that she will post a YouTube video of her testifying before the Committee by tomorrow at the latest.

Her Townhall Op-Ed being published the same day was a nice touch.

She will dining out on this for months. She couldn't have handled this better.

Free Republic: Jason Whitlock and Joy Villa testify before House Judicial Committee

The testimony was about the cancel culture from big tech, but both Jason Whitlock and Joy Villa used the opportunity to take shots at the Dems, and Joy Villa strongly defended President Trump. Just gotta love that girl. Worth watching. Its only 5 minutes long

Yes, Joy Villa is doing a great job.

I really like her voice, too.

Politics and Scientology are not one and the same, even if Democrats like to spin it that way.

Daniel Dae Kim, Joy Villa, Erika Alexander and More Speak Out During House Judiciary Committee Hearing on the Lack of Diversity in Media

Villa, who attended the hearing in-person, disagreed with the Academy’s updated guidelines which mandate diversity in the Oscars nomination process. “This is wrong. I’d like to be hired for the role, because I’m the best person for the job, not because my color or gender checks a mandated box,” she said.

The artist, who introduced herself as “a conservative actor,” spoke to the danger of so-called cancel culture and highlighted the importance of not only celebrating racial diversity but accepting differing political views.

“This hearing is meaningless and benign if it doesn’t also address the active canceling of diverse voices going on right now,” she said. “Yes, we need racial and ethnic diversity, and representation matters. But diversity is not only about color, gender or how able-bodied someone is or isn’t. We have protected clauses in our country under federal law for race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age sexuality and disability — it’s time to include political affiliations.”

I have pledged not to discuss politics when I use this identity. I am going to keep my promise. Nonetheless, I believe that I can appropriately say the following.

I agree that "Politics and Scientology are not one and the same." (I offer no opinion either way on whether "Democrats like to spin it that way.")

The only reason why I post about Joy Villa is that she is a Scientologist who is politically active. For me, the issues are: (1) whether she is being used by Scientology to make inroads into the Republican party and the MAGA community; and (2) if so, how successful she is.

To be honest, while I understand it, I tire of people not getting, ignoring or avoiding the point that I am trying to make about Scientology making inroads into the Republican party and the MAGA community, and immediately obsessively jumping to the underlying political issue to score points (That is more of a problem on other Scientology forums than here.)

I also tire of ad hominem attacks against Villa.

To the extent that people want to discuss the underlying political issues (which I understand but avoid myself), I tire of people thinking that "But she's a Scientologist!" is a valid argument, much less one that ends the discussion in victory.

A video captioned in French of Joy Villa's testimony before the House Judiciary Committee yesterday is making the rounds on Twitter.

Right now, this French version is getting far more Twitter traffic than the original in English.

The French version is titled:

Joy Villa «J'ai été traité de nègre de maison, esclave, on m'a dit de retourner en Afrique»

Google translation: Joy Villa "I was treated as a house negro, slave, I was told to return to Africa"
