But before the day was out we could see that the 2nd Appellate District wanted no part of it. Oh, Dave. And think of all the money you spent having three attorneys write that 92-page document. According to the appellate court docket, applications to submit amicus briefs from the Church of Scientology and another one from 14 other faith groups on behalf of Masterson were denied yesterday. No explanation was given, and the court made this decision very quickly: It wasn’t even due to make this call until Tuesday. Also, the denials were “without prejudice,” so Scientology could at some point try to submit something again. But for now, anyway, both amicus briefs have been blocked. And here’s what the court’s decision does not change: Dave revealed just how much Scientology continues to support Danny Masterson’s appeal, and he spent the money to prepare an expensive brief that not only claimed Masterson’s religious rights were violated, but also smeared the Jane Doe victims in the process. Scientology can’t change that record, even if the court doesn’t want to hear its nonsense. Also denied was the amicus brief sent in by 14 separate religious groups, the usual “interfaith” shills that Scientology has carefully cultivated over many years. Also written by a Mormon attorney in Utah, the brief runs to 44 pages. We didn’t want that to go to waste, even if the court isn’t going to consider it. (And also, we had already gone to the trouble of putting it all into this post.) So here it is anyway, for your entertainment if nothing else. Well, maybe at least it needn't go to waste, as it is a screaming example of the character of the "church" of Scientology, that they will go to such extremes to try to force the freeing a one of their own who happens to be a serial rapist. I "imagine" Miscavige's concern over that possibility because Masterson is known to have been a Scientologist, he's associated with it, and thereby its ripe for being pointed out by "church" critics, along with the "church" 's denials and rejections ringing false in the face of all their efforts to stifle his victims/accusers and the "church" 's efforts to insinuate themselves into the legal proceedings. Comprende?
Miscavige, like Hubbard, idiotically obsessively acts to draw more attention to the charges and complaints by so loudly and energetically fighting them, instead of letting such things stay less noticeable and dying down. That's the moronic "PR tech" Scientology playbook.

Davey the micro-shmuck must be apoplectic No doubt he's screaming at the attorneys over how they screwed up his brilliant perfect plan. Maybe the next move is to tell the judge the he outranks the justice system, they've already taken care of the situation and had Danny do a very thorough o/w write-up, and Scientology will take it from here as he works his way up the conditions to be a better serial rapist.
