Robert Dam reports :
Dear friends, this is MONUMENTAL NEWS from Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, housing the European Scientology HQ's. The Danish government is finally going to interviene !!!
During the last one and a half year I have been writing on my book "The Hotels of Darkness – Scientologys children" which has just been released here in DK (still only in Danish). During this process I've been in contact with one of the major Danish newspapers BERLINGSKE, and up to the release of the book, they brought a series of articles about Scientology here in Copenhagen. This has resulted in the gorvernment getting so provoked by the abuse finding place right under their nose that a majority now wants to step in. Here is a translated excerpt:
POLITICIANS WILL CLEAN UP SCIENTOLOGY
After a series of articles in Berlingske about the living conditons in Scientology in Denmark, described as 'modern slavery', a broad majority in Christiansborg (Danish government) will now intervene.
By Christina Hilstrøm (my contact at Berlingske)
In Denmark, children have signed contracts to work for 'a billion years', after which they have worked every single week far more than most adults. It is clear, after the Scientology defector Cyril Chiquet has told his story to Berlingske.
It is a story about how he as just 16 years old signed a contract 'for a billion years' with Scientology's elite unit, The Sea Org, in Copenhagen. He has told how he worked from 9-23 every day of the week. About the pressures and punishments carried out by Scientology. And about knowing that a farewell to Scientology was also a farewell to his family members in Scientology. Berlingske has also told in a number of articles about how the religious organization Scientology – which has placed its European headquarters in Denmark – has acquired a number properties in central Copenhagen. Scientology now owns properties worth DKK 424 million in the heart of the city – among other things as a result of a conscious acquisition strategy. In addition to constituting a great value trying Scientology continues to recruit new members from the properties.
At the same time, defector, Robert Dam, describes a number of highly objectionable conditions in the Sea Org, in the book "The Hotels of Darkness – Scientologys children", which has just been released.
Berlingske's articles on Scientology's approach is now prompting politicians to take action.
'After all, what Scientology does is brainwashing,' notes Kim Aas, who is church spokesman for The Social Democrats.
+++++
Scientology is NOT recognized as a religion in Denmark.
