[Sprayberry then and now]

We’ll admit to enjoying the Michael J. Fox version of Teen Wolf when it hit theaters in 1985, but we didn’t manage to catch MTV’s Teen Wolf series that aired from 2011 to 2017.
And for that reason, we’ve been essentially unaware of the career of one of its recurring cast members, Dylan Sprayberry, who originally grew up in Houston before moving to LA to pursue acting in 2006.
A couple of days ago, however, Sprayberry suddenly showed up in our various media feeds when he posted a short video to his Instagram account to update his 2.7 million followers on what he’s been up to now that he’s 28 and he and his wife are expecting their first child.
In the video, he described going through various mental health struggles and drug addiction, and credited Scientology’s Purification Rundown for helping him get through it. He’s a committed Scientologist now, he explained, and said it was a great thing.
“I am a Scientologist. I’ve been a Scientologist for three years now,” he said. “It’s been so fantastic.”
The media jumped on the announcement with glee.
“Other celebrity Scientologists include Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and more A-listers,” said the New York Post after describing Sprayberry’s video, apparently unaware that Alley died in 2022, and unable to name any other “A-listers” in Scientology (because there aren’t any).
