[The very funny John Novosad]
The Underground Bunker is pleased to bring you this message from Michael J. Rinder Aftermath Foundation executive director Phil Jones…
We've said it many times before, when former Scientologists walk away with no savings, no resume, and a family that has been ordered to 'disconnect' from them, they need a soft place to land.
That's where The Michael J. Rinder Aftermath Foundation comes in. And this March, in Denver, Colorado, we have a chance to help build and strengthen that landing pad while catching some of the best stand-up in the country.
On Wednesday, March 11 the legendary Comedy Works South in Greenwood Village is hosting a special night of 'Comedy for a Cause' to benefit The Michael J. Rinder Aftermath Foundation.
The headliner for the night is John Novosad, known to his many fans as Hippie Man. If you haven't seen Novosad, you're in for a treat. He's a veteran of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and a mainstay of the national circuit. His dry, laid-back delivery is the perfect vibe for a community that spent decades under the high-pressure 'stats or die' atmosphere of Scientology.
As many of you know, the Aftermath Foundation provides the practical, 'real-world' necessities that Scientology intentionally denies its members. Emergency relocation aid, education grants for those who haven't been in a classroom since they were 12, career counseling, and even mental health resources to navigate the trauma of Scientology conditioning and abusive treatment.
